Café Sjiek — Restaurant in Schiedam

Me and my boyfriend traveled around the Netherlands/Belgium and stumbled upon this hidden gem early on! We even returned for a second time at the end of our trip it was that fantastic! Cas (or Gus -sounded like) was our server both times and he was FANTASTIC, friendly, informative, professional and welcoming, he made the experience and even went to the lengths of googling the specials in English down to the garnish! This nice “eetcafé” is perfectly located in the old part of Schiedam. The seats at the waterfront give a nice view over the canal and the old storage warehouses. The menu is simple with a few classic dishes as shrimps with cocktail sauce, sate with sate sauce, and strawberry Romanov. We organised our small, 20 people wedding dinner here, and had a great experience overall. Everyone complimented the food, especially the entrecôte was a fan favourite.

We also had the opportunity to store our own wedding cake for no extra charge. All in all we left pretty happy and are very thankful to Luc, Thomas, and the lady waiter who attended our table all night between 5-10pm. Price quality wise also recommended.
