schattig. — Restaurant in Schiedam

We tried this place yesterday for the first time and were curious to try this new cafe in Schiedam. The Ambiente and vibes are very nice, light colors and enough seating (inside and outside). The only problem was sadly the service, the waiting times were very long and the service did not really inform us or walked around much, to make sure everyone is alright. After 45 min of waiting, we received our food and sadly it was also the wrong order, they first blamed me for ordering it wrong, even though that was not the case. Anyway, after another 10min a kitchen staff member came to us to apologize and offered us a free drink. That was very kind and appreciated. The food and drinks were very nice and for that we would come back; since the cafe is only open for one and a half month the service probably and hopefully...

I have never written a review before, but the experience I had on Sunday was unacceptable. We waited 1.5 hours to order and receive our food.

Service was extremely poor. Instead of hiring more staff, they made excuses about it being a busy time. If more employees were hired, there wouldn’t be such long waits—30 minutes for service and an hour for food is unacceptable, especially in a café setting.

To the manager or owner: before opening a café, you need to plan properly and not blame customers for the delays. It seems that profit is prioritized over quality!

We visited schattig. for lunch. Wanted to try their matcha lattes. We have tried so many places with matcha lattes, but most were just so-so. That's why we weren't expecting much from this place, just wanted to try it out. However it was really good! It exceeded our expectations.

We had a matcha latte and a matcha pistachio. Absolutely love the matcha pistachio one. We also tried their avocado toast with salmon, tuna melt and french toast. The french toast was a bit heavy, other than that, it was delicious. The avocado toast was richly topped with salmon. Usually at other places u get a meager slice. I do feel the dishes were worth their money. I love the interior as well. Simple, modern and aesthetically pleasing. The vibe was quite cosy as well.
