Just an amazing architecture and good for making some beautiful pictures. The Hofvijver was made rectangular by Count Albrecht of Bavaria in the 14th century. The pond retains this design to this day, although it was given quays in the 17th century and extended in the 19th century. Until around 1800, the Binnenhof was still surrounded by a moat and only accessible via bridges.

De hofvijver is een statige en historische plek in het centrum van Den Haag. Aan drie zijden kan je kijken naar de vierde waar de historische parlementsgebouwen aan het water grenzen. Daarnaast het Mauritshuis, een museum met onder andere schilderijen als 'Het meisje met de parel van Vermeer' en 'De Stier van Potter'. De Lange Vijverberg was regelmatig toneel van evenementen zoals kermis en markten. Op de Korte Vijverberg statige gebouwen waaronder het Haags historisch museum en een kunstgalerie. Aan de overzijde van de vijver op het Buitenhof zit Museum De Gevangenpoort. De vijver zelf heeft een eilandje en een fontein. En is al jarenlang toneel van vuurwerkshows, kunstuitingen en de...
