Luden Den Haag — Restaurant in The Hague

The service was bad. I visited this restaurant with a group of family and friends, so we sat on two separate tables outside. At that moment there were just a few people there. The service was extremely slow and unsatistying. For two tables, we were given only 1 menu card. The drinks were served fine, but I and the people on the same table had to wait for more than 30 minutes for our order to be taken, while the rest of the group was already finishing their food. The waitress just skipped us and did not stop. After we were finally able to order, we waited another 30 minutes for simple bagels and sandwiches. I had to go to the waitress and to complain and only then our food came. The explanation was that everyone ordered food and it is busy, however, when we sat down there was almost no one. I love Luden, I’ve been working next to and regularly visiting here for 4 years now. However on my recent visit I ordered some of their mocktails and only after having one, and ordering a second, I was informed that they do have an alcohol level closer to 2%. As an alcoholic I cannot drink any alcohol, and so I find this absolutely unacceptable, when I communicated this to a male server, he was standoffish and insisted “it’s barely any alcohol you can drink that right?”. Luckily the female server was helpful and apologetic. This is an awful approach to offering non alcoholic items on your menu and I did contact them through the website to make a complaint, but 5 days later I’ve recieved no response. I also work in Horeca and as I’ve said, I do like Luden ordinarily, but having alcohol in non alcoholic beverages is not okay under any circumstances, and the fact I was only informed after I ordered a second...

This morning, I went to Luden to have my coffee. Since I smoke, I always sit outside. I asked the waiter to turn on the heater for me, but he told me, "We won't turn it on because no one is sitting outside." I said, "No problem," also the the shop next door had the heater on I should have gone there in the first place , but anyways I stayed i decided to order my coffee. I got a cappuccino. After an hour, they brought me milk with coffee granules — basically, froth with milk. I was shocked! On top of that, I had to pay for it. Unacceptable behavior and coffee.
