It is a great renesonce castle with baroque influence. The location atop of a small hill next to the medival castle overlooking the lake and seeing the whole northern alpes on a clear day make it a hands down recommendation. The restaurant offers top notch quisine for lunch and has a good cake selection for a quick afternoon break. Overall one of the top recommendation if you visit lake constance.

I really liked the new palace, although only the third floor was given to the museum. It is a pity that all the rooms on the second floor are closed. Beautiful view of the lake and the Alps from the park terrace. I also liked the sculptures of seagulls that are all over the museum. They are funny.

Die mit einer herrlichen Aussicht über den Bodensee ausgestattete Rokoko-Anlage, die von 1750 bis zur Säkularisation 1803 den Fürstbischöfen von Konstanz als Residenz diente, ist trotz des mobiliaren Leerstandes absolut einen Besuch wert. (Das Vakuum ist auch nicht verwunderlich, wenn man bedenkt, dass in den letzten, mehr als 200 Jahren dort u.a. eine Truppenunterkunft, Seemannsschule oder Taubstummenanstalt untergebracht waren.) Besonders schön ist das von Giuseppe Appiani prachtvoll ausgemalte Treppenhaus, die auf Illusionswirkung abzielende Schlosskirche sowie das exzentrische Teehaus unterhalb der Gartenterrasse. Darüberhinaus erschien mir die augenblickliche Ausstellung ('Das zweite Gesicht'), die partiell im Schloss gezeigt wird, wegen des interessanten Ansatzes und trotz der eher kärglichen Exponate sehenswert.

There are only few rooms on the second floor that can be visited, half of which are in museum format. Overall, quite nice. A must-see place if you're on a tour around Lake Constance. The view of the lake from the terrace and from the second floor is breathtaking!

Das Neue Schloss Meersburg ist einfach malerisch schön! Die Lage direkt am Bodensee bietet einen traumhaften Ausblick, und das Schloss selbst besticht durch seine barocke Eleganz. Die Innenräume sind wunderschön restauriert und zeugen von einer prachtvollen Vergangenheit. Besonders die prunkvollen Säle und das beeindruckende Treppenhaus sind absolut sehenswert! Das Ambiente strahlt eine friedliche und entspannende Atmosphäre aus, ideal für einen Spaziergang durch die Schlossgärten oder einen Besuch der beeindruckenden Ausstellung. Ein perfektes Ziel für Kunst- und Geschichtsliebhaber oder für alle, die einfach die Schönheit dieses Ortes genießen möchten. Ein Ort voller Charme und Geschichte – absolut empfehlenswert!

Beautiful building located on the ridge. You can talk to the top with a good pair of legs. Take your time otherwise. It is quite a steep road. No need to purchase tickets in advance. Very nice view from the top out toward Lake Constance
