Droste-Café Restaurant Bar PIZZERIA — Restaurant in Verwaltungsverband Meersburg

I will share my experience here. Food was very good (pizza and pasta), the wine also perfect , the waiters very friendly, no complain at all. The reason of 2 stars (my intention was to give only 1 but finally 2) was a very critical and bad situation. Although the door of the restaurant showed very clear the VISA logo, when we wanted to pay, the boss told us than only cash. So I needed to leave my partner alone at the table and go to find a cash dispenser, pay commission as I'm not living in Germany, and go back to the restaurant. When I was there I called the boss to give him my feedback. He was very disappointed and somehow angry and explained me that in Germany this was a common problem. Sorry boss but I have got lunch in many other restaurants in the same area of Constance lake and haven't seen that before. The manager told us to go away without paying, but we refused and let him the money. We had got lunch and we paid for it, but he needs to accept my feedback even it is not good this time. I only asked him to put a paper on the door with the warning that only cash was allowed but instead he was angry. That would have been much fair as I could have chosen if sit or not on that restaurant. So just for other people to know, if you want to go there, ask first if you can pay with credit card. I can understand that if you put a text at the door saying "only cash" probably you will lose potential customers but honestly you will lose much more not warning about...

Just horrible. I went with my friend to order a coffee to go. I wanted to have one decaf with milk and my friend one normal coffee. We were waiting and when I want to pay the waiter said I can’t do it with card (really? I can’t pay with card in a restaurant?). My friend had to go to the hotel to get cash because we didn’t have enough (8€ for the worst coffees I could try). My friend took a sip from the coffee and could feel it was not filtered. He had to throw it away and we found it was full of coffee grounds! So we showed it to the waiter and he answered saying it’s decaf, my coffee was suposed to be decaf, not the one for my friend! They took the 8 euros and of course we had not coffee. First because one was awful and full of grounds and second because the order was taken uncorrectly so I had no decaf coffee. TERRIBBLE! I just revisited this restaurant after 2 years. Back then, it was the best Italian-like experience outside of Italy, with fantastic food and service. But two years is a long time.. This time, the food was average at best. Tuna fish seemed too dry and the dish was overall missing something. But the worst was extremely loud techno/trance music that just wouldn't stop. When asked if they could turn the volume down, the waitress said nothing could be done and that it's quieter downstairs. Not just absurd, she also straight lied to us cause the music was just as loud on every floor! Then to top it off, I wanna pay with debit card but I can't cause device doesn't work. No warning beforehand! We could still hear the damn music all across the promenade....
