After arriving for an appointment early over the road I decided to pop into countdown st johns for some groceries and as a good excuse to have a walk. I have to say from the second I walked through the door I was absolutely blown away with the cleanliness, the precision and almost regimental style of how all the products were displayed on the shelves, I am myself OCD and like things in place and immaculate so I always have high expectations, I found myself facing up the products on the shelf after I had chosen what I needed so as not to leave a gap in the product on display, it is clear and obvious that the staff are well trained and clearly take pride in their work. After speaking with Velieni who was at the time monitoring the self checkouts and telling her of my welcoming experience we had a very pleasant chat and I must say she was very helpful and appreciative of my comments and generally well suited in her role. I travel from the hibiscus coast for physio at st johns, my local countdown is either orewa or silverdale and rest assured they are not of the same caliber as st johns store when it comes to cleanliness, tidy product display, and staff mannerisms, in fact I had one occasion at the orewa store when I was made to feel like a criminal with the staff members attitude toqards me on the self checkouts when I couldn't get an item to scan correctly, both orewa and silverdale stores could learn alot from st johns. I would like to pass on my gratitude to every single member of staff because it's a team effort and not just down to one individual. Well done countdown st johns and keep up the great work, you have a set regime and an example that all countdown stores should...

Terrible customer service today from the 2 lady's manning the self check outs at 2pm (16.11.21) I paid for some items, then decided to buy more items afterwards. My card declined so I was walking out, then I got stopped and asked if I wanted the other items that I left there. I clearly stated I could not afford those items. Then the older lady asked if I paid for my other items, I said Yes. Where's the receipt? Didn't get one. Come here. Don't leave... Check with the younger lady. Security stops me. Felt like a criminal, just trying to purchase my food and leave! Another lady comes and everything is suddenly okay.. no apologies(after all the accusations flying), security moves and I am able to leave... Ughhh like really?! All that because I couldn't afford more items!! No need to profile and accuse me of stealing! Do better!! Sorry if you have had lots of thieves come through your store, but this was inappropriate.
