I feel cheated and humiliated! Me and my partner went to watch a movie after 2.5 years with my 2 year old kid. Apparently the movie was R16 so the teller refused. But as we went for a movie after a long time I wanted to explain my situation to her so i tried to talk to the teller again, but the same person wasn’t there so i had to go to a different teller. before buying the tickets I confirmed with the teller twice that i have a 2 year old son with me and i was also carrying a stroller. Teller said it’s okay. And gave us the tickets. A while after ,manager advised us that she cannot allow us. I told her that we did confirm before buying and now they can’t allow, i wanted my money back. At first she declined and then after an argument she said she will provide vouchers only for tickets and i have to pay for the food i bought, and i agreed. She gave us 2 vouchers in replacement to our VMax tickets. Couple of days later when i went to watch another movie just by myself she (the manager) told me that the voucher that she provided was for standard tickets and not VMax; even though my original purchase was VMax tickets. But the manager was so egoistic she didn’t apologised once and kept saying same thing over and over again and was being really stuck up with what she did is right. Read moreA marketplace late night purchase made me drive to the city so thought I'd make the most of it and take my daughter to see the new little mermaid. Now Event I can't fault the tickets $11 each as movie if the week is worth the drive in from the coast, and the food prices are a whole $10 cheaper per combo to what I'm extorted at our local so I was onto a winner. Collection of tickets at the machine was simple, the girl who served my food was pleasant - till I asked for a straw and was directed to cut through 2 other rows of customers with full arms to try and retrieve one from an obscure counter blocked by customers - thankfully a customer passed me one as the server closest to the straws was not happy with me asking her. Unnecessary and kinda rude to be fair. There was no one checking tickets so we found out seats and then had to clean them along with everyone else I saw on my row, the place was trashed. I understand Saturdays are busy and I'm not asking much but brushing down the seats and removing rubbish should be the least that could be done between screenings. Luckily my 5yr old is oblivious to all of this and blew another $10 trying to win the claw game at the exit which you know is too heavy to lift but you give her the coins anyway 😜. Read moreManager Chris is very rude and unprofessional. I do not understand how someone can be in this position which involves customer service. I bought my vouchers online and when booking it through the event cinemas website it kept saying Payment declined, I tried two different credit cards but it still shows the same error. So i tried other website transactions and it went through fine.
I even called up both the banks and they said no issues from their end. They gave me the authorization codes to talk to the eventcinemas manager as they confirmed the issue is with Event Cinemas and not the banks. So i took the auth codes and drove to the cinemas all the way almost 15kms. The staff at the counter were very nice and humble but couldnt help as they dont have the info. So they called up Chris the manager. He was so rude saying its not his fault and its nothing to do with him. I mean, he didnt even try helping, checking the auth codes and looking at the errors nothing. I felt like i was just ignored there. One of the worst customer service manager i had even seen in NZ.
