The best birthday I’ve had so far! Will definitely be back..
It’s been about 8months since we joined Johnny, Erin, Daniel and Leilani on board The Rock an what a awesome time we had. We booked a private overnight cruise for 17 people (8 kids) and to this day we all still talk about how much fun we had. From the time we got onboard til the time we checked out, there wasn’t a boring minute throughout. Our kids loved it, even the adults had an awesome time. Johnny and the team really made it comfortable and easy for us to enjoy everything there was to offer. I was worried about the quantity of food because well, we eat big 😂 but I was assured there will be more than enough for us all. Which there was. Literally more than enough! I had awesome communication right from the day I sent in a query email. The process was smooth, understanding and very satisfying to deal with. I told them my concerns (food, snacks for kids) to which they catered these concerns very well. They weren’t just slap up meals either, they were delicious meals i still get hungry for. Even the snacks, there was so much! The activities were fun, an planned out well. It was really a buzz being onboard The Rock. Only 1 regret I have, an that’s drinking all night and not going to bed til 4am because hangovers at sea? Yeah that sucks lol. I have so much more to say but this reviews long enough so I’ll leave it here and say a big THANKYOU JOHNNY, ERIN, DANIEL AND LEILANI. You 4 were a highlight to our trip aswell!
P.s we still have the empty hot bottle we got you all to sign 😏 P.s.s I Never forgot to write a review, it was always in my mind...
Read moreLooking for a cruise with 10 restaurants, 5 pools, and 3,500 of your closest friends? Then stop looking at The Rock and head over to Carnival. If you are looking to experience something real, authentic, and full of new experience this is 100% the right place for you. It's hard to describe the boat, it is a repurposed car ferry, lots of plywood, not fast, simple in everyway and it really connects you with where you are. Too many activities to list them all but there are a few that stood out to us. At night we took the kayaks out and they turned off all the lights on the boat (try that on a 1,000ft ship). It was a moonless night and the water was phosphorescent. Running your paddle or hand through the water made streams of magic light follow it, looking up we saw the Southern Cross for the first time (just like that song, honestly) but the real treat was the vividness of the Milky Way Galaxy. It was so bright I actually tried to take a picture of it with my cell phone. The next day we took they kayaks to an island for some hiking. Our guides said "no shoes required" so we didn't, we walked through shin high grasses, on paths up to the top of some hills, even laid on grass as soft as a bed mattress. No snakes, no bugs, nothing but soft grass and views to remember for a lifetime. The crew was always there to help with anything and we became friends with many of the the other guest. Please please add this to your...
Read moreI recommend this adventure trip in the Bay of Islands as it uniquely displays an array of activities that a typical (camping / boating) kiwi family would do over the summer holidays
The activities were all very well supervised and fun, they were conducted in such a way that anyone could give it a go, no mater what your experience is.
Snorkling was great fun and there were even a couple of snorklers who had dolphins swim over to them and put on a show of jumps for us who were on the boat. Very exciting to see them in such happy spirits as they continued on their merry way. Kayaking at night was a new experience for us and was much more fun, the walk on the island was informative and a very comfortable level of walking. After the walk we had time to paddle board kayak or swim from the beach and get to know the other guests on the cruise better.
The boat is very comfortable and spacious and the food was timely fresh and very tasty. The guides were happy and entertaining and made an effort to make the guests feel comfortable as some were novices to the...
