A bit of a mission to get tickets as they are high demand! However had so much fun in the Wheel & Wine class as first time potters.
Recommendations:
Bring a friend! Don’t hold back on bringing a nice cheese platter and make sure to start eating and drinking as soon as you’re seated. Bring an apron and extra towels. If it is a full class, the tutors will be busy trying to look out for everyone so a reminder! put your hand up without hesitation (even if you feel shy). You get two clumps of clay. One is free (comes with the ticket) and other you can buy. If you like the results of both, buy the other which costs another $15. Perfect for an occasion and to do in remembrance of a celebration i.e birthday, anniversary, etc
All tutors were so lovely and their guidance was very much needed for anxious first-timers as myself and my partner.
Picked up our cup/bowl 2~3 weeks after we made it. Loved the result and would keen to try the Coffee & Clay class in the...
Read moreThis is a really fantastic pottery center. The classes are booked out ridiculously quickly because of how well known it is. I had an opportunity to complete a beginners wheel throwing class here and everything was very smooth and well-taught. The teachers were all very patient and accommodating, and even though there were 16 of us and only 2 tutors, they tried their best to attend to each and every one of us. I think this experience particularly set The Clay Centre apart from other pottery studios as the teacher:student ratio meant you learned more and created better pieces.
They navigated lockdown well and did well to accommodate us. While the class was not refundable, they did their best to accommodate our needs and tried to provide compensation in letting us glaze more pieces for free.
This is a truly great place and my only regret is not having enough time to do more classes. Thanks everyone & Nadine at...
Read moreIf you want to give clay a go - don’t walk, run to book. Even if you want to just try it out or have a project in mind. It will be so rewarding.
Honestly a superb experience. I really fell in love with clay because of those classes.
My tutors were Sophia (whom I can’t praise enough for her detail oriented approach and clear instructions, perfect for beginners like me), Iza (who was so, so helpful and kind and had some amazing solutions to problems I’ve encountered, always ready to help) and Cat (whose creative approaches will yet again change your approach (for the better)). All of them were amazing and honestly made it so rewarding and fun for me.
I have now booked a third (!) course with them and have two sets of my own pieces that I can’t stop admiring.
Can’t wait! :) thank...
