Small but very peaceful and cozy local botanical gardens, ideal to chill down and get some rest surrounded by beautiful nature. It’s very hilly so if you are up for some challenge you can do some hikes up and down the maze of the trails and admire some beautiful trees, nature and if you are lucky you will find the waterfall which is a highlight. There are some picnic places around perfect for a weekend family time out.

It’s a pretty beautiful garden with various kinds of plants. I’m impressed by this little garden but I also have to say the number of insects here are amazingly rich too lol. Notice that a few wild walkway can be very slippy. They got some Budgerigars here and they are are very active too, overall a great garden and it’s worth to check out.

Located on the Napier Hill, this gardens is completely open to the public, and features a great duck pond, bird aviaries, and a walking track that surrounds the entire area.

It's a fantastic place to bring the family, or to visit if you're wanting a beautiful walk around a wide selection of flora.

The walk around the site is quite steep going up one side and down the other, however doesn't require too much energy if you're looking for a casual stroll. The main area at the bottom is fairly flat though, containing the pond, the birds and a beautiful expansive grass area if you're not up to the hilly walk.

The groundskeepers should be commended for the fantastic maintenance that is obviously kept up at the gardens. Everything is always clean and well pruned.

I would recommend that anyone looking to have a family outing, or anyone wanting something to do on a quiet day should come and take a look. It's a beautiful way to...

We had a wander through the cemetery, lots of graves from the maori wars, world wars and earthquakes. Lovely birdsong and a variety of birds. We had a cute piwakawaka follow us for a while. Then we went into the gardens they are lovely, the tracks are steep, bit of a workout pushing the pram. There is an aviary down by the lake and toilets. Had a lovely picnic at the...
