Palm City Motor Inn — Hotel in Napier

Property is good however the owner is a lier and got caught out. I booked a room (and I've stayed here before) however through my Expedia app my Credit Card had expired and I was happy to give the property my new one but she said no the booking must be paid by the end of the day or she would cancel my booking when my booking wasnt for another 3 weeks. BUT I booked through Expedia and chose the "Pay Later" option Also the last time I stayed the same expired Credit Card was used? Funny how this time they picked it up then I go to remedy and they say no, pay or we'll cancel. I've managed hotels for many years and I know exactly how 3rd party websites work for the accommodation sector. The owner has always been sour when staying, feel sorry for her staff.

No you need to educate yourself Jane. As Owner Operator you should know better after many many years! And to go against what is publicly displayed and featured by if not all 3rd party websites.

Pay Now: you pay 3rd party website who pay the property. (Overseas like you say)

Pay Later: The guest pays the property directly "KEYWORD LATER" at the time of stay.

Take a read over your contracts and visit the websites yourself then READ and familiarise yourself with it. You have had no reason to demand payment by the end of the same day of booking against public information that is displayed. If it is incorrect you need to deal with the 3rd party website concerned as I am basing my case on what is displayed publicly and what I selected but you have chosen to pick me out this time then try and charge my credit card without my authorisation 3 weeks before stay date. Yes I have cancelled because why would I now stay? I have all the evidence and will be taking this further which im sure you will be notified...

My dad, my brother, and I stayed in a family apartment (28). There was plenty of space for the three of us, which was great. Having a bathroom both upstairs and downstairs was awesome. Both were spotlessly clean.

The downstairs kitchen/lounge, which also had the queen bed, was clean and had more than enough for three people to chill out and relax. With table and chairs right outside your door, and with the pool area only a few steps away, it gives you plenty of relaxation options. The kitchen area has everything you need to cook your own meals and early morning coffee

The upstairs bedroom with two single beds was large, with a large window giving you an awesome view of the pool area and rear part of this complex.

The Palm City Motor Inn is further back from Marine Parade than most, but i found that it added to the relaxation vibe that this provides. As there are plenty of eating out options within walking distance, you have plenty of options available for a good meal. Never got the opportunity try the on-site restaurant, as it was closed for our stay. But will definitely give it a go next time i stay there

Reception staff, and all staff in general were very nice and helpful and certainly added to the awesome experience we had.

Will definitely be back

I have been staying here for the past 4 years at different times of the year. I have a son, daughter-in-law and grandson that live in Napier. I have always been treated with respect, I use a walking stick and really battle with stairs. I am always accommodated to suit my requirements. This time I was informeed that my booked room was not available as the person from the bight before had decided to stay an extra day. I was nonplussed but I was directed to a huge suite. It was bitter ciold and Jane (who is so lovely and wonderful) actually went and turned on the heat pump, a half hour before I arrived, so that I walked into a toasty warm room. I have found all the staff absolutely wonderful. The rooms, and I have stayed in anumber of them, are always clean and spotless. The cleaning staff are also friendly and ready for a chat. In some instances, I have arriveed with a grandson in tow and noithing is too much trouble. Just an adjustment here or there. I am not one to give 5 star reviews as I feel nobody csan be that perfect but this is one business that I feel actually deserves all the praise they can get.
