Natureland Wildlife Trust — Attraction in Nelson

The actual place is a wonderful outing for young people and an education opportunity, one would have to remember to ignore the rude manner of the older lady at the front counter who I watched twice snap back an answer to the two 7 9 year old children who asked simple questions relating to park critters. She managed to ask in an abrupt tone of one poor wee girl if she could read! I only hope the wee girl could because this lady would have embarrassed her as we all heard! The next wee soul asked a similar question and was snapped at I then followed the attention of these two children and couldn't find an answer myself- I am much older 🤔which would suggest that the deficiencies were Nature Lands inability to be clear. Absolutely loved Natureland Wildlife Trust. I'm an adult, and my inner child squirmed with excitement. There were so many animals to see and get close to. It was more of a personal feel with how you got to get close to the animals. Some you could buy food for and feed. There's so much to do and see, and I love the fact that its compact and not too spread out. There's still plenty of space, but you aren't walking miles to get to places. Their toilet facilities are great. Their staff are attentive and caring. There's even a playground for the under 5 yr olds! I just loved the differing variety of animals to see. Great place to take the little ones. Kids always enjoy it. Parking outside. Easy walkways around the complex. Would be good if they advised when feeding times might be so you could be there at that time. Would be nice for the kids to do the Zoo helper opportunity during the school holidays but I think you need to be super quick to find out about it! There is a cafe close to the complex however it would be awesome if there was a wee cafe or even a coffee cart there. Especially if some of the funds went directly back to the animals.
