Wow, this place really takes the cake for a budget 'Mutton dressed as lamb' motel. Here's the 10 best, worst things about this place: On arrival, the people next door appear to be permanent residents and have dogs who barked up a storm... EVERYTIME I went near my door. Although it's had a lick of paint and some fancy wallpaper, it looks like a council type flat. It's old, it's cold, it's concrete. Kind of place lonley old people go to die... In the bathroom, the toilet seat is loose as anything (really unstable), and the toilet brush has a collection of other peoples fecal matter on it. There is a hole in the wall where I assume the towel rail should be... No where to put the towels. The showers a joke... I could urinate more liquid per minute than that thing can pump out. It's not clean, other people's hair in the shower, greasy hand marks on the mirror.. Yuk! Nothing's been thought out. You'll be asking yourself, who designed this place??! Skilled Parker? You better be... I have a work Ute and it appears a free for all of parking wherever you want. The parking lines mean nothing to these people, good luck, you'll need it! Enjoy hearing your neighbor breath, move, or the dogs scratch at their fleas? Despite the concrete walls, you'll hear every sneeze and cough. Here's the kicker guys.... The Queen bed is two singles tied together with Queen sheets!! If you value your life, which if you do, you won't be booking here after reading this review. You don't want to roll into the middle... Or it's gameover.
I'm meant to be staying here for 5 nights... I'm debating freedom camping in the Ute tonight (might be a bit more comfortable than my two singles beds) and I'll look for somewhere better tomorrow. You've been warned. Unless you like mutton. In which I'm sure this place could do you a deal charging...
Read moreI booked to stay here on Christmas night after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures. I knew we were in trouble though as soon as we drove up the driveway. The drive way narrow, dirty and mouldy and facade of the property was run down and not at all inviting. Pictures attached||||We had been told we would be in apartment 2 and that the key would be under the mat but when I lifted the disgusting mat there was no key; I almost sighed with relief hoping the owners had made a mistake and not kept our booking. That however was not the case they had just made a mistake and we were in apartment 4. ||||As soon as we walked in the door I knew we couldn’t stay there. The place smelt like an old op shop. The renovated bathroom did nothing to entice me to stay despite having paid. The outlook from the bedroom was a horrible run down over grown court yard. Although they had attempted to make the place look nice it just felt yuk! Filled with cheap furniture and a horrible doona cover. There was no way I could bring myself to even try the bed. So my partner and I packed up and found another place around the corner that was cheaper and much nicer. I think the pictures for Kea are very misleading and I would not be surprised if the recent reviews were paid for. ||||I have attached pictures. There are even abandoned cars on the lot and party of the property that has a pool has been fenced off which again is not at all appealing. ||||This place is 2 stars at best any work done on the inside is wasted because of the outside. Definitely not...
Read moreMy experience with kea apartments has been awful. My partner and I booked online and 10 mind later we arrived. The outside is in a sorry state but we still gave kea apartment's benefit of the doubt. We were given our key and shown to our room. It was a cold day in Nelson and for a 4 star hotel there weren't much luxuries, like carpet, unit may be suitable as like a summer bach. We were cold and tired and just wanted to relax and this cold wooden uncomfortable unit was not worth our money, so after a 5 minute discussion with my partner we decided to cancel our booking.whilst driving back to the office we noticed many empty units. We handed keys back into office and left to stay at a comfy warm, heat pumped unit for $1 extra per night than kea apartment's. Before we even reached our new hotel kea apartment's had charged my a full 2 nights booking as we didn't cancel within 58 hours, the whole process from booking to walking out of motel took 15mins. I think it's so rude. We ended up convincin kea apar's to give us one night back but we are yet to see that money. I think it's very rude to charge one night when we didn't even have key for 5 min's, and we as customer are always right. We have a right to cancel. Will not be recommendin to our family when they visit as we are locals. Very...
