Dinner here tonight, group of four. Peter-booked by phone, but still pretty of tables. We had the summer rolls to share (no problem adding an extra one), ginger stir fry with prawns, lemongrass beef, and panang chicken. Good size serves, one entree, three mains and two shared desserts was enough for us group of four. Each main dish comes with rice and small side salad. Good amount of sauce, plenty of meat in dishes. Dessert was very tasty - warm sticky date pudding, with vanilla ice cream and lychee. Yum! Efficient and friendly staff. Attentive without being intrusive - replaced the water jug automatically when they noticed it was empty. Extra rice was supplied very quickly. Reasonably BYO fee of $10 a bottle, but they also have a good selection of beer, wine and soft drinks. With some extra rice, came to a pip over $30 a head. Good...
Read moreLovely service. Friendly welcome and quick service. I cant fault the staff that looked after us. Thai is our family favourite, this thai isnt authentic tho which is disappointing. We ordered two fried rice and one was delicious flavour but moist rice and the other was less flavour but better rice. We were really dissappointed with the sweet and sour which was recommended for our child (who is 4)but had so many vegies on it and was more like a stirfry it also tasted like tomato sauce and wasnt battered chicken and no one liked it. The cashew beef and pad thai were nice but taste like home made food. The curry puffs were also so good. However your spring rolls taste like they are from the super market.
All in all $160+ for good service but average food. I dont think I would visit...
Read moreCame to Thai Tuhunanui for our evening meal. Ordered the combination appetiser of marinated chicken wings, pork ribs in a spicy thai marinade, spring rolls and vegetable puffs. It was inedible. There was no marinade on either the chicken or pork. The spring rolls had no vegetable inside, just noodles and unseasoned minced pork( i think), and the pumpkin puffs were completely unseasoned. After asking about the marinade, I was told yes there was marinade, as if i didnt know the difference. I was then told that people in Nelson do not like spices in their food. I have never walked out of a restaurant before, but last night i paid for a starter that was not fit for consumption and left before eating anything else. I would not give any stars for this place but no option for a...
