Loved this place! Only 2 such lights in the whole wide world. One in Portugal and another one is this one!
Walk through the tunnel, it is painted white, well lit and best of all echoes loudly. Me and my child enjoyed making different sounds while walking through the tunnel.
The lift is at the end of the tunnel. Ring the bell, a friendly lift man will bring the lift to bottom of the hill.
During Jan 2023, they were running half price on the fares. It was just a dollar for an adult and 50c for kids. How amazing!
I suppose many school kids still use this lift especially to carry their bicycles.
Beautiful views at the top of the hill. Anzac tower 🗼 which 300 m tall. We were almost 1000m above sea level at the top of the tower. Stunning views and beautiful experience!
Kudos the team who are running this. This is...

Definitely worth seeing, and extremely reasonably priced at $2 per person per trip for the elevator ride. There are stairs leading to the top for those young and fit enough, but the tunnel is a flat walk, and the elevator makes it easy to navigate it all for those with less mobility. Definitely...
Read moreHugely disappointed to have the elevator closed with no notice or signage on Easter Sunday. The website and signage on site clearly state- open daily with reduced hours on public holidays (closed Christmas Day). We arrived during the listed opening hours and it was closed. Had planned part of our trip around visiting this and we certainly weren’t the only ones! Huge amounts of families and visitors, and a whole bus load of tourists all trying to access the elevator. I can understand reduced hours on public holidays, but to not even be open/with no communication is extremely disappointing and a poor reflection on tourism...
