New Zealand Glassworks is well worth a visit when in Whanganui. The gallery features beautiful glass sculptures for sale and overlooks an impressive kiln. The hands-on workshops look like lots of fun and book out well in advance. Friendly and helpful staff.

Wanganui has so many little gems of a place to visit. This glass works is one of them. They have a balcony viewing platform that you can sit and watch the artist at work. Loved the amazing glass art on display. You can even take lessons here!

This place is a must visit on your trip to Whanganui. The skill that goes into making the huge variety of beautiful art, jewellery, vases & ornaments from glass is superb. This place is an outlet for many artists to sell their work from $30 to $11,000 plus Something for everyone! You can also book a spot in a glass making class, if you are quick as the spots for the year fill up fast. There's usually a person working on making something but the day we went that person was unwell. Free street parking outside. Free entry. Wheelchair accessible to watch the glass...
