Spice Guru Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Manawatū-Whanganui

I've never had to negative review a restaurant before but I barely can find a good thing to say. The staff were unfriendly, borderline rude except for one man whom I make no complaint about. Gave a plate with a huge chip in the edge. waitress saw it but still gave it. Anyone in hospitality knows that is a huge no and unhealthy. Asked to clear plates before people were finished eating... even while eating. These waitresses were rarely polite. No manners. Despite our bad experience we still said please and thank you .. these waitresses did not say either nor did they smile. Generally rude. Food was below average, no taste. I'm afraid to say I would never dine there again. I would go to Spicy Fair who's food is delicious and staff are lovely. The steamed vegetables our vegan ordered weren't fresh steamed, it was gloop like you get out of a can, looked yuck and...

Very disappointed with the food. Ordered 2 curries Lamb saag and malai kofta and 1x seekh kebab starter. Everything was tasteless. I spent around $60 for whole lot but not even worth paying $10 according to the quality of food. They may need good qualified chefs who exactly knows how the Indian food is taste like.

However kiwi people give good rating because they do not know the exact flavour how they taste like. I won’t recommend this place to anyone. I believe this is the worst food I have ever had in my life.

I ordered a takeaway for Chickken Tikka & Butter Chicken with Garlic Naan. Food is fresh and feels homey. I ordered both mild for both cuisine but it lacks some more taste, maybe I should have ordered medium. Also I would commend for the generous servings. I just wished a little bit more taste. Service took like 42 mins (contrasted to what they said was 25mins max) to prepare the food for takeaway. But they compensated with a free drink which is appreciated. Thanks =). The atmosphere is fine and comfortable. Clean setup, clean environment and clean bathroom as well. I am not sure if the serving time is same for dine in, you must try it...
