Mud Ducks — Restaurant in North Island

Shocking Rude Service, - I came here in March last year with my Mother and daughter. My daughter & I had a sausage roll each which gave us food poisoning. My Mum had something else and she was fine. My follow-up phone call complaint & email were both ignored so next time I was in town I stopped by to tell them. The manager on duty was very apologetic & comped me a $20 voucher. So I have continued to give them the benefit of the doubt. Last week my husband & I stopped in to get coffee and some lunch. The girl at the cash register was irritated we were taking a while to make up our minds. Unbeknown to her we had been in the hospital emergency all morning & were quite exhausted. She took our order incorrectly & charged us too much. I went back to ask her about the charge & she bluntly told me I ordered incorrectly & it was not her mistake. The manager stepped in & I asked her for a refund of the extra dish we did not want & also told her about the food poisoning experience & the rude service I was getting. She slammed a $50 note on the counter & told me to take it & leave & not to come back! I said she didnt need to go overboard & could she please give me a refund for the extra dish we did not order only. So she did after she calmed down... I would not recommend this cafe to anyone for poor quality...

I sat with3 other adults and 3 kids. My order was missed, while all others were eating, the waitress said, sorry, I forgot to write down your order and did I still want my order to be placed. I told her to forget about it. All up we spent $193. In addition, my husband ordered a flat white with cameras shot. This arrived with no cameral. I politely took this up, I was looked at with discussed, I informed her (coffee maker), she told me to "leave it there I'll sort it". So I did. The arrived, hubby tried it again, no cameral shot, he took this up, the young girl was very rude and said to him "there is cameral in it, how much do you want". He replied with, forget it and to take...

OMG, I did not realize you could improve on perfection, but my visit to #mudducks today was out of this world 🌎, 😍❤️.

For #brunch, I ordered the Bangers & Hash with a kumara rosti, 2-1 special drinks - #mimosa

The kai was sublime, scrumptious 😋 and so enjoyable 😉. The bangers - pork & fennel - was delicious and deserved a special mention, but the rest of the kai was as ka pai.

The kāwhe was perfect, as was the Mimosas - never too early for one lol, and not really a drinker of alcohol, was really nice.

Generally, I try to go to different Cafés when back in a town, but when one is as ka pai as Mud Ducks, you just have to keep going back, I definitely...
