We hosted a 60th birthday on the weekend on the Stage at the Royal Whanganui Opera House. An absolutely incredible space which suited our needs which was made for such an incredible occasion. Thanks to Maria who was a phenomenal Coordinator who made our event so special and amazing. Also our barman was incredibly friendly, accommodating and happy to help with anything else we needed. Everything they did was above and beyond.

Awesome night out. First time we have been here but such a lovely building. Sound was great for the show we went to - couldn't fault it. Lovely staff too.

We went to visit this stunningly beautiful old building in the heart of Wanganui, to see a performance of Swan Lake by the touring company of the Imperial Russian ballet. The setting was lovely, the soloists , Lina Seveliova, and Nariman Bekzhanov, were amazing, but every one of them was fantastic. A fabulous night out. Even my six year old granddaughter sat enthralled through the entire show. Just a hint for people attending shows at the Opera House. Take some cash if you want to use the upstairs bar. They don't have EFTPOS. It is a very old, iconic and beautiful theatre, worth a visit even if you don't have a show to see. You can get a small cash out at the box office... they do have EFTPOS. If you are wondering if you should go to a show there...GO! A WORD OF WARNING...The theatre has been restored to its original condition...INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL SEATS...OUCH! Take a...

Saw Sole3mio last night. They were fantastic as always. However the show was 40 minutes late starting. People were made to stand around waiting for the seating area to be opened with no explanation or apology whatsoever. No chairs were made available to those with disabilities. When the show did get underway, a support singer was the opening act for around 25 mins. Then a break in the show was announced which took up a further 20 minutes. Ridiculous!! Several people mentioned the Opera House was cold throughout the show. A wonderful show spoiled by very...

No matter who is performing at the Royal Whanganui Opera House she always has a wonderful old world atmosphere well enhanced by warm clear acoustics that enfold artists and audience as one. Tonight it was The Last Night of the Proms with Brass Whanganui plus choir and soloists delighting the near capacity crowd with music from James Bond through to Aida.. and of course the proms staples, Fantasia, Rule Britannia & Auld Lang Syne. A superb...
