Johnsonville Fish Supply — Attraction in North Island

This is my family fish and chips shop. They must have had a change of owners as I ordered all vegetarian and asked for it to be vegetarian. I ordered spring rolls and opened them to find pork. When I called up and told him about it he told me it was all my fault and not his at all. Poor customer service and phone skills. Won’t be returning a not will my family you’ve lost loyal customers because you couldn’t own upto your own mistake. How can you tell me it’s a complete vegetarian meal when you add pork spring rolls to it. Educate yourself on customer service and listening skills. And maybe answer the phone with something else rather than a “yup what”. Fellow veggies please double check or avoid this store at all costs. If I could give less than 1 star I would. Also might I just add that some cultures can’t eat pork due to their religion. Your lack of knowledge about your product can harm...

BEST HAND MADE CHIPS YOU'LL EVER HAVE. First time here and let me say those chips 'hmmm' easily the best chips I've had at any fish and chips shop, they're act hand cut chips not those frozen mr. chip you find around really good maybe a bit too good I went through the chips before everything else but I do gotta say while the chips and hotdogs there a good that fish is just lacking it's okay but they really need to work on that batter idk what it is with the fish but it tasted like mush as if it was just grinded up fish deep fried it was really a let down I can't put my finger on it but not my favourite just cheap. BUT still 4 stars for those chips imma come back just for them and there hotdogs too. hopefully the fish was just a one off because I'd happily drive 2h just to buy those chips with some...

Headed up the gorge to visit Johnsonville Fish Supply.

Order: fish, scoop of chips, corn fritter and a sausage. Cost: $20.60

There was a soft crunch to the batter on the Blue Warehou which gave a slight doughy after taste. It did detract from the steaky flesh that was delicious and filling.

The hand cut chips were on point with the classic crispy exterior and soft inside. Portion size was okay, probably slightly smaller than the average scoop.

Corn fritter was delicious! Plenty of corn and well seasoned mash and herb.

My preferential condiments to enhance this heavenly gift is malt vinegar, ketchup and 2 fried eggs! Buttered bread is a bit much and I’ll only have that if I’ve just ordered chips.
