Recreation Reserve — Attraction in North Island

Its beautiful, the beach is lovely, the lake is gorgeous, the walks are relaxing, theres also a caravan park down further to the left once you drive in all the way down. There is wildlife such as ducks, fish, other birds aswell. The bridge has a wonderful view of the mountain when it can be seen. Great for photos too. There is rest stops along the walkway if you need to rest or stretch out. This place is an amazing feature of taranaki.

The route starts at either bell block veladrome or the port public carpark.

From the new plymouth port end there is a sign pointing in the direction of some of the most recognized places in taranaki which hold either historical value to taranaki or are well known places.

Secondly there are seats all along the walkway with paved wheelchair access along the route.

There is the windwand in the city centre.

Further along there is a skateboard park and two lifesaving buildings.
