Northgate Motor Lodge — Hotel in North Island

My partner and I recently moved to New Plymouth and we stayed at Northgate Motor Lodge for 3 weeks while settling in and looking for accommodation to rent. The premises are in walking distance to town and nearby shops and restaurants. The room we stayed in was fantastic and super clean. It was cleaned every day and fresh towels and linen were provided to us regularly. The kitchenette suited our every need and had all the necessary appliances in order for us to cook every night. There are more TV channels available than you have time to sit and watch them all and free Wi-Fi is also provided. Parking bays are outside your front door which is highly convenient and there is a lovely outdoor barbecue area where one can relax. They also provide a sauna and fresh towels for you to unwind in after a days work. There is a laundry service on the premises including a tumble dryer. When booked asked for room. Upstairs with balcony . Went to book in on the day only dark glum downstairs room. Asked owner what was going on. She became very arrogant and said nothing noted. I told her that I wasn't happy and she said if you don't like it you can always go somewhere else so we did. We went to the Plymouth Hotel for $50 a night and got a 3rd floor room with beds up stairs lounge kitchen down stairs . Balcony and a great view across to the water and part of the city. Staff really friendly. Paul from 16 Northgate rang me when I was checking in at the Plymouth and said I gave his wife a hard time. I said listen here fella if we get into who gave who a hard time you won't like what I have to say so let's just go with i wont be staying at your motel ever so thanks for your call see ya...

Our first time to New Plymouth, we pulled over to search accommodation to meet our needs and rang Northgate Motor Lodge, Paul answered, we told him our situation...made our booking and he guided us to our accommodation, how awesome was that and he was very professional, pleasant and our accommodation was to our expectations. Our unit was very clean, and very nice, the super king bed was so comfortable, I didnt want to get up. The shower was very roomy and the spa tub was a nice way to relax Paul also guided us to where we were meant to go, and gave us a street map, very clear and simple instruction.
