Not what I would have expected from and fish and chip/Chinese takeaway. I tried their Polynesian Hangi (umu) for the first time. Loved it.
The smokiness and tenderness of the meat, the flavorsome vegetables. It was nice and juicy. It definitely was a hangi/umu as the flavors invoked elements of both.
I'm a bit concerned about posting this coz it means others will want to try. But sharing is caring.
Spoke with the owner, and he stated the umu is cooked on hot rocks. It definitely shows. Now imagine if they had luau, and fry bread. Also, for what I paid, there was definite value for money. Shared with wifey and got full.
Was eyeing up their roast pork lol. Oh well maybe...

The fried food was very soggy, so we needed to heat up in the oven. The Kumera chips were soaked in oil and the fish batter was undercooked.
