We live in whanganui and we’ were in Auckland visiting and We drove out from pukekohe from our sister in laws house to kumeu for a fun mission to experience these pies , as we like to try pies from all around the country ! The locals directed us up to the place but it was closed due to flooding .further on another kind local said they may be own as they seen a sign up at the winery up the road, so off we went for the second time and I happened to knock on the door and the owner was in there and greeted me saying sorry about all that and that they were flooded out. I said our story to him and he so pleasantly gave us 4 beautiful frozen pies in a branded box so professional looking . There were mince and cheese and steak n cheese and when we went home my partner microwaved two and came out beautifully and we cooked ours in the oven and came out mint too . Yum yum 😋 really impressed with the owner’s generosity of insisting giving us the pies free of charge, because we had traveled all that way and he was adamant we were not to be disappointed. And we weren’t! He had a freezer full of pies for distribution. He was setting the place up for manufacturing also. So luckily for us …We raved about it to our friends and still to this day talk about it. Thanks for the awesome pies and opening up the door while you were cleaning up the damage. You guys rock...

Have to edit this due to not being able to reply to your reply. Sorry but you are wrong I know it's hard when people don't like your product but it's a fact. I was at the film set in kumeu and the staff went and got food from your shop. I was not impressed at all. Asked where and was told the pie shop. 3 months later I tried your place and was worse than the first time.
I am a legitimate customer that does not like your food. Shame on you for assuming it's around your comments . Shame on you ignoring the genuine feed back and trying to Shame me.
The reason for the late feed back is I forgotten until I went across the road and got a pie and drink the other day . So pull your head in and...
Read moreWow. So good. Definitely ‘up there’ for top pies. We got two pies to share and compare. The Commander, their classic mince and cheese, and the Bella, Italian lemon and parmesan chicken. At first look the pastry looks solid and more crunchy than soft but as soon as you cut into it, it folds and crisps up. Unbelievable it keeps it shape with all that stuffing and doesn’t fall apart when they move it. The cheese on the top goes edge to edge and you get good bit with every bite. Both solid pies. If i had to pick which id have again, it would probably the Bella since its unique to anything ive found anywhere else.
Definitely worth the hike out, if not a stop off after the beach.
Edit: came back for a friend visiting from the states. All i got was mmms and wows. Added...
