Very Small Animal Park - Got a chance to look at Ostrich, Deer, Rabit, Goat, Cow, Horse, Hen & Buffalo. Neat and Tidy. Trampoline and small kids rides were free to use. No Paywave. Both Debit and Credit cards accepted. Easy parking. Had small Cafe at Entrance wherein Coffee, Muffins and Sandwich were available. Placed the order for Coffee and Muffins which were above average. Owned by a private owner - must say well organised Animal Park, u don’t have to walk a lot, all the animals are just in a small radius. Went there with our 10 months old Daughter and she enjoyed a lot. Nice scenic drive from Christchurch to Hanmer Springs...
Read moreWe love the interactive aspect to this small animal experience. A little hard to find if you are not paying proper attention but still within walking distance from Hanmer Town centre. Our kids loved that you could get into some of the enclosures like the sheep, wallabies and baby deer. It made the holiday really special for the little ones. Cafe was a little limited on vegetarian options other than the stock standard but food was convenient considering how long we stayed! Allow plenty of time, especially if you have little ones as they kept going back to pat the animals they could! Will visit...

Nevertheless, this is a pretty good attraction to get up close to the animals and we especially liked being able to feed the goats (very hungry), deer (aggressive) and wallabies (docile and lovely). It was a very hot day when we went so bringing along water and hats is a must as there's no shade. Beware going to the pond where the ducks are, towards the water buffalo, as the water is stagnant there are sandflies. Thought the place...
