A-Maze-N-Golf — Attraction in South Island

Don't bother going here. Go to crazy putt or pitch and putt instead. Our experience was completely ruined immediately by the grumpy old man here who obviously didn't want our business by looking at us. I very politely asked for 2 adults and a 14 year old. This guy didn't listen and included my elderly mother in the price and handed her a club. I said no she's not playing. Then he insisted i said 3 adults. We told him no we said 2 adults. So now hes fed up, and doesn't want to refund the extra adult he included. Kept insisting we said 3 adults. We told him no he's wrong and because the eftpos payment had already gone thru he finally begrudgingly gave us a $10 note. My wife said what about the other $2? Again he insisted that we said 3 adults and wasn't going to give it. My wife told him why? That's F'd up! We're not playing here we want a full refund. He then just slammed down the $2 to make things even and told us to just go play now. Took us a while to calm down from that before we could even want to play. Felt disgusted that we paid this guy our money for such...

Turned up with the family, man behind the desk not very friendly or welcoming. I asked for a family pass and was asked "what for?" I said golf please...what else do you have...he said a maze. Paid and went to the bathrooms then the kids said can we do the maze too....at that point a group went through the maze and I asked can we please do the maze too....was told no ive just closed it???!!!! Huh???? Thats cool, don't take my money.....i don't understand people who work in hospitality/customer service and are miserable! Will try the other golf next time. Won't bother with this guy again. Also the course is tired and needs a bit of love,...

Visited Yesterday (11/10/20). Have been before (as every time we come to hanmer for many years). This time around we arrived at about 2:55 (They close at 4:30) only to be greeted by an older man that apparently I was later told only works there and doesn't own the place. We were told he's closing as he wants to watch the rugby and got grumpy when we said we just wanted to do some golf. As we didn't want to deal with his attitude we turned round and left disappointed. He rushed ahead and closed one gate before we could even get into the car. Very disappointed and probably...
