Glenalvon Lodge Motel — Hotel in South Island

The host staff was kind. They always tried to support me for the best stay. The room was very spacious and clean. I definitely plan to go back if I visit Hanmer Springs again. I understand a comment in the review that the room is old-fashioned. I think the old part is minor such as water strength. Other things are all modernised. The location is good for looking around the town by walk. I asked some recommendation to them and they kindly answered with my perference. We rocked up in Hanmer Springs and we didn't have accommodation. Checked a few reviews and Dale seemed like our sort of host. We organised the room over a few SMS. We decided we needed to do a hike before we checked in. Once we got back, about 3 hours later than expected Dale had already setup our room, turned on the heat and checked in with us (I just hadn't seen it). We ended up staying for 2 nights. We spent here two nights, having booked due the good TA reviews. The location is excellent almost opposite the hot pools, and close to everything in town. Dale, the manager, let us chose between two rooms, and we liked the one we've got. Very spacious, and clean, fridge, tea/coffee facility, and microwave, which we didn't use.
