Herne Bay Beach — Attraction in Waitematā

As you drive through a road surrounded on either side by inflated mansions, you search for the tiny entry that leads you down to the beach, treading carefully not to disturb the peace in the neighbourhood or to enter in the wrong entrance. Once you reach the beach via the reserve, via an array winding steps, you see a pretty shabby inner city beach, with the locale foliage covered in plastic from previous picnics. Lovely small beach near to the Auckland city center. (15min by bus with the outer link bus and 5mins additional walk.) Most of the time the beach and the water are clean. The differences between the tides are huge, so better don't lay to near to the water while falling asleep.

cute and small beach, it's not too stretched out, so if there's some people here and there can make the place feel crowded, but there is still place for you to sit in between.

easy to get here by bus and walk around half kilometre and you'll get there. also there's a toilet here 👍🏻

i think you cant see sunset from here because the trees on the left side hid the sun view, but im pretty sure you still be able to see the sunset...
