Tonight was an absolute disappointment, and I can't shake the feeling of having wasted my money. I honestly can't find a single positive thing to say about the food. First, the wine was corked, sour, and unpleasant. The squid was tough and chewy, served with wilted salad and loads of balsamic vinegar—no care or effort put into the dish whatsoever. No respect for a delicate seafood which should not be dawned in vinegar. And don't even get me started on the carbonara. Adding cream to carbonara is an unforgivable sin in Italian cooking, and what I was served was basically overcooked pasta drowned in cream and parmesan with almost no meat. It was clear that the pasta was store-bought, and the dish was a sad excuse for one of Italy’s beloved classics. The pizza was no better—I'm pretty sure the dough was pre-made, and the toppings were barely there. It felt like a mockery of authentic Italian cuisine. The only saving grace of the evening was the live music, which, at least, gave us something enjoyable to listen to. However, that alone wasn’t enough to salvage the experience. This place completely disregards the respect and tradition that Italian cuisine deserves

We ordered takeout via MenuLog - the food was delicious and delivered hot, and the customer service was excellent. The only issue we had was that MenuLog confirmed the order and charged our card when the store had no record of it. After the estimated delivery time had passed, we called the store only to be told they didn't know anything about it and by this time we had been waiting quite a while for the food. Nevertheless, whilst this was a disappointment to hungry people, the store quickly remedied the problem by calling MenuLog on our behalf and sorted it out, and 30mins later we were happily eating. Well done Bona Pizza for rectifying this even though MenuLog dropped the ball. We will be back again for sure!

Great pizzas and pasta here. They also have steak and other meals that I haven't tried. Had a Combination pizza that has chicken, beef, lamb and peppercorns. Smaller place but there always seems to be lots of available seating, not sure why. Family business where they're always friendly. Update: in a new location in Herne Bay, even better in every way and finally seem to be getting the volume of diners you'd expect at a restaurant with this quality of food and service. Friendly family business. Have been twice since they moved to Herne Bay and found parking down side streets pretty easy both times.

If you're craving mouthwatering pizza that transports you to Italy with every bite, look no further than Bono Pizzeria. This hidden gem has quickly become my go-to spot for authentic and delicious pizza in town.

From the moment you step inside Bono Pizzeria, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The rustic decor and cozy seating create the perfect ambiance for enjoying a meal with family and friends. The staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and always ready to provide recommendations from their impressive menu.

Now, let's talk about the star of the show—the pizza! Bono Pizzeria takes pizza-making to a whole new level. Their crust is a work of art—thin, crispy, and perfectly charred. The ingredients are fresh, and the flavors are well-balanced. Whether you prefer classic Margherita, indulgent meat lover's, or adventurous gourmet combinations, Bono Pizzeria has a pizza for every palate.

One of the standout features of Bono Pizzeria is their commitment to quality ingredients. They use only the finest, locally sourced produce and premium imported Italian cheeses. Each bite bursts with authentic flavors that transport you straight to the streets of Naples. It's evident that the chefs at Bono Pizzeria take pride in their craft.

In addition to their outstanding pizzas, Bono Pizzeria offers a variety of appetizers, salads, and pasta dishes. The arancini, garlic knots, and caprese salad are among my personal favorites. They also have a thoughtful selection of vegetarian and vegan options, ensuring there's something for everyone.

The service at Bono Pizzeria is impeccable. The waitstaff is attentive and efficient, ensuring that your dining experience is top-notch. The food arrives promptly, piping hot, and beautifully presented. The prices are reasonable, considering the quality and portion sizes.

Whether you're looking for a cozy dinner spot, a place to celebrate a special occasion, or a takeout option for a pizza night at home, Bono Pizzeria delivers an exceptional experience. Make sure to save room for their delectable tiramisu—it's the perfect way to end your meal on a sweet note.

In conclusion, Bono Pizzeria is a must-visit destination for pizza lovers. Their dedication to authentic flavors, quality ingredients, and impeccable service sets them apart. I can't recommend Bono Pizzeria enough for anyone seeking an unforgettable pizza experience. Buon appetito!

I stumbled upon Bona Pizzeria completely by accident, and a happy accident it was.

I have now eaten here several times and every visit has been a pleasure. Bona is a cute little Italian place with a nice selection of pizza, pasta and other dishes on the menu. The staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient.

The restaurant itself has its own special ambience, warm and comfortable, but not cramped. There is seating available outside as well. Prices and portion sizes are both very reasonable.

I have now had the chance to try quite a few of the dishes on offer and have been thoroughly impressed. I am more than happy to recommend Bona Pizzeria to anyone who finds themselves looking for an Italian meal in Ponsonby. An added bonus is parking is seldom an issue down this end...
