Highly reccommend grabbing some takeaways from the local joint on Jervois Rd and bringing it down - just remember to take your rubbish with you!

A (relatively) hidden slice of peaceful beach just north of Ponsonby. The beach itself was very muddy and laden with seaweed but that gave it a certain charm. My wife braved the sludge to dip her toes in the water! The beach is walkable from north Ponsonby although it's not the most elegant route - mostly residential streets.
