Perhaps the most noticeable building in Auckland's skyline is the Sky Tower. At the top, visitors can take in 360-degree views of the city, eat at the cafe or one of two restaurants (including one that revolves) or walk around or bungee jump off the attraction's 53rd-floor platform. A gift shop is available as well. Previous travelers praised the Sky Tower's views, suggesting you visit on a clear day to avoid obstructed vistas. Reviewers also enjoyed the food offered in the attraction's restaurants, although some cautioned that both venues' dishes are expensive. If you do decide to eat here, book your dining reservations several months in advance. And remember, Sky Tower admissions are waived for visitors dining on-site. The Sky Tower welcomes visitors daily between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m. from May to October, with extended hours from November through April. Adult tickets cost 29 New Zealand dollars (around $21), while children between 6 and 14 get in for NZ$12 (about $8.50). Family passes for two adults and two children are also available for NZ$65 (approximately $47). SkyJump tickets cost NZ$225 (less than $162) for adults and NZ$175 (roughly $126) for children between 10 and 15. SkyWalk tickets will set adults back NZ$150 (about $108); kids passes cost NZ$120 (approximately $86). Reservations for SkyJump and SkyWalk can be made online. The attraction sits in the heart of the CBD within a few blocks of Viaduct Harbour and the Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki, making it easy to reach on foot from downtown hotels. You can also drive (on-site parking is available for a fee) or take an InnerLink bus to one of the stops on Queen Street.

While this place is nice to visit and has a great 360 view of the city, there isn't much to do up there other than see the view. The passage around isn't very wide which is ok when it isn't busy, but I can honestly say if I went there when it was packed I would have hated the experience. The price is what your expect from high view towers, like the empire state building on New York or the tower in Japan. I think the price also goes by height so the snow state building costs more :p. So I've one big issue for me is how it can be tight. The other issue is that if you visit the place during the week, it closes at 8 and the sunset is at 830pm. So basically you won't get to experience it at night when I think the view would probably be better, (seeing the city so lit up) and you might get to experience the sunset. It also doesn't open early (930 am) so you can forget about going early to at least experience dawn. So if you are buying a ticket, check when the sunset is, to at least experience that The other tip, I would say is to go look at the lines to get on, and buy your ticket on a mobile phone (I think there is also free Wi-Fi so even if you don't have data, you can just use your phone with that). But do not buy the ticket if there is a long line. So it can be a good experience with a few caveats. We were lucky and for us it was almost a 4 star experience, but I know how most things went well.. although we still didn't get to go during sunset or night.

I have to say Auckland is a beautiful city but it looks more beautiful from the over 50 storey high sky tower. The sky tower impresses you before even you enter it. From its base it looks massive, literally towering above you , giving you the feeling as if its gonna fall on you and crush you. When taking photos of the tower from base be careful as you could fall on your back. Beautifully decorated entrance lobby inside. You feel thrilling as you take the elevator because the lift has a glass floor. And as you go up to the 51st floor , you can see the ground getting away downwards very fast, giving you butterflies in stomach. When you get to the round observation deck, you get fantastic views of Auckland, its streets, bay area and the boats and ships around. You also get goosebumps when you dare to stand on the glass bottom of the deck and try to look down 51 storeys under your very feet. It's not for faint hearted or people with vertigo, because the glass is just 25mm or 1 inch thick. But don't worry I was 100 kg plus at that time, I could easily stand there, so can everybody. If you want more thrill they have tower jump or sky walk for you, where you can walk on the platform outside the round shaped deck. Must be thrilling though we didn't try it. We also had coffee there. There are restrooms on the tower. And you can do some shopping in the shops at the first floor of the tower. You ought to visit sky tower if you ever go to Auckland.👍🏻👌🏼

Sky Tower: A Spectacular Experience in Auckland, New Zealand My recent visit to the Sky Tower in Auckland was nothing short of breathtaking. Having been here several times before, I continue to be amazed by the magnificent views from the observatory. Perched high above the city, the observatory offers a 360° panorama that truly showcases Auckland's beauty. One of the highlights of the visit is the ability to take a complete walk around the observatory, allowing visitors to soak in every angle of the stunning scenery. Whether it's the bustling cityscape below or the serene waters stretching into the horizon, every view is a masterpiece. For those looking to elevate their experience, I highly recommend visiting the Orbit 360°. This unique dining venue not only offers superb cuisine but also rotates slowly, providing diners with an ever-changing perspective of the city and beyond. It's a perfect blend of fine dining and panoramic views that creates a memorable experience. Overall, the Sky Tower is a must-visit destination in Auckland, offering not just breathtaking views but also an opportunity to experience the city from a new perspective. Whether you're a local or a tourist, the Sky Tower promises an unforgettable experience that captures the essence of Auckland's beauty. Pictures include Chinese New Year celebrations in February 2024 during my previous visit.

I'm happy to share my review of the Sky Tower! Our recent visit, starting from the 51st floor and ascending to the 60th floor, left us with an unforgettable experience. The moment we stepped onto the observation deck, we were greeted with breathtaking views that stretched as far as the eye could see. The city's beauty and vibrancy were on full display, creating a sense of wonder and awe. The transition between floors was seamless, and the journey itself was an adventure. It's evident that the Sky Tower team has invested in creating an enjoyable and well-organized experience for visitors. The staff's hospitality and assistance further added to the positive atmosphere. From the panoramic windows to the interactive exhibits, every element was thoughtfully designed to enhance our understanding of the city's landscape and history. Standing at such heights allowed us to truly appreciate the urban tapestry below. Overall, our visit to the Sky Tower was a highlight of our trip. The opportunity to see the world from a different perspective and capture incredible memories is something we will cherish. Without a doubt, this is an attraction that offers not just a good experience, but a truly exceptional one.
