Really worth the time! Entertaining and informative, the displays are very well curated and the information provided keeps you interested. It’s great for children 5+ and all age groups above, if you aren’t very knowledgeable you will learn a lot and if you know your WWI history you will get nice new bits and pieces. You can go through both halls in 50 minutes or less, the trenches are fun and might take 30 minutes more. The trenches require a separate ticket. There’s a nice gift-shop inside. The museum does offer guided tours, ask at the front desk.

MUST DO! Amazing exhibition, won’t be there for long, we pre-booked a guided tour (45 mins) then the trench experience straight after, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job of painting a picture, loved the photos, and detail on the displays, we went down to go to a beer festival, and did this on the side... and this was the highlight of our trip to Wellington. Recommend the kids bags at just $5, full of activities and goodies. Very good value for money.

Excellent follow-up to the te papa exhibit. The color in the photos and the different models (small and large) really bring to life the horrors of the war. The information around each area gave me new background to the kiwi story of war but also the cause of the hostility. It was certainly better than when we got taught about it oh school and I liked the kids finder challenge too. The figurines in the hill mockup are truly perfection and the detail is astounding.

Powerful, graphic and detailed. Amazing! Unlike anything I have ever seen, in the U.S., or anywhere. Honors the memory of those who served, and those who fell. I came away both shocked at the horror of war, and with better understanding of what it was like to be there. Very disappointing that this will be closing down. Everybody should see it at least once!

$15 entrance or $25 including the tour. Take the tour. I learnt so much more about WW1 and our tour guide added so much extra that was not on the walls to read. The tour was 45 minutes and then we went back in to revisit and take photos. The models are again fantastic. You need about 2 hours here and another 15 to 20 mins to see the war memorial outside.
