I went with my friends to play mini golf on a Saturday. We had looked at the prices on the link in their instagram bio and it said it was 3000 Naira. When we got there the sign at the kiosk said it was 4000 Naira and we decided to not think about it too much only for us to try and pay and the lady said it was 4500.
We then asked her why the sign says 4000 and she was rude to us and told us to look at the sign well. I'll attach a picture of the sign and I am sure that is says 4000. Even with the 7.5% VAT that they acknowledged was excluded from the price, it should have been 4300 not 4500. I'll also attach a screenshot from their own instagram link with the price. I understand that the economy is quite unstable but atleast update your prices so that customers are aware
The mini golf however was very fun and the man who attended to us taught us how to play offered to help us with pictures and was an absolute pleasure. I believe his name was Ismaeel. The equipment and course was well maintained which was very nice
On our way home, while we were waiting for our uber, we decided to sit at the water fountain at the entrance of the park. To our surprise, a security guard was shouting at us. We couldn't quite make out what he was saying so we walked towards him and he said "you should listen to your elders!". We had not argued with him or anything we just wanted to move closer to him to hear what he was saying. In any case, we are paying customers and your age, quite frankly, does not mean much right now. But I didn't say that i just told him we couldn't hear what he was saying and that we were sorry( I was not even sure what i was sorry for). He then told us we weren't allowed to sit there unless we had express permission from the owner. Maybe those were the instructions given to him but there was no need for him to speak to us the way we did.
Since the closest sitting area was inside the park, we just stood outside, waiting in the blazing sun. I will also attach a picture of the fountain (which had chairs by the way).
On our way out we saw another group of people sitting there and the man didn't harass them maybe because they were a much larger group than us (there were just 2 of us). Also maybe he thought because my friends and I were younger he could easily prey on us.
It's really upsetting that in Nigeria, even when someone tries to create a space where people can go and enjoy themselves, the people who run the park use their own hands to tarnish...
Read moreI visited Central Park Abuja (Plot 174, Kur Mohammed Ave, Wuse) recently with family and friends, and we had a genuinely enjoyable time. The park is tucked in the heart of the city—so convenient—and offers a refreshing green retreat away from the usual office and traffic bustle. The landscaping is attractive, with shaded paths, well-kept lawns and gardens, and plenty of space for kids and adults alike to relax.
One of the big draws for us was the diverse activity options. The go-kart track is fun and a definite adrenaline-rush for anyone wanting speed and a bit of friendly competition. For the kids, the playground with swings, trampolines and jungle-gym setups was a hit—they barely wanted to leave. There are also quieter corners to just sit, chat and enjoy the view—perfect for couples or friends catching up.
The food and restaurant side is decent too. We ate at “Tapas on the Green” and other eateries on-site; the menu is varied (Naija, Indian, multi-cuisine) and the ambiance is pleasant enough for an afternoon or evening out. Parking and access were also manageable, which is a big plus in the CBD.
That said, a few things stood out that could be better: The arcade zone and some game areas felt a bit cramped and could benefit from improved cleanliness and maintenance of equipment. One reviewer noted dust and grime on game consoles, and some confusion in queues. Also, while the setting is good, prices for some activities (go-karting, paintball) were on the higher side — so it pays to check costs in advance.
Overall though, for families, friends or a casual outing in Abuja, Central Park Abuja ticks a lot of boxes: fun activities, greenery right in the city, dining options, and a relaxing environment. I’d rate it 4 out of 5 stars, and would recommend visiting—especially on a weekday when it’s...
Read moreI attended an event there, the CMD Food Tour 2024, so I didn't get to see too much of the grounds. I was too busy enjoying life. But I spent about 15 minutes looking around, and what I managed to see in that time was enough to make me want to go back.
First of all, the scenery is earthy and the sounds of the running fountains enhance the experience. I love the greenery. There are lots of trees everywhere. Don't worry about where to sit when walking around. There are benches all over the park. The availability and strategic placement of benches was a nice touch.
If you want to really have fun, there's a go cart race track, a mini golf court, and a paintball arena.
There's an authentic Italian restaurant (I'll confirm it's authenticity when next I visit the park),
Kids aren't left out of all the fun. There's a whole section where they can loose their senses while playing. From trampolines, cable swings, etc children can play and enjoy themselves. There are chaperons there to ensure that the kids stay safe while having fun. By the way, if you have to bring the kids in a minivan, don't worry about where you'll park, or if your car will be safe. There's ample parking space and security at the gate checking cars coming in and out of the park.
Like I said earlier, I didn't see all of the grounds. I'd bet there's more fun activities to engage in, and other cool spots to sit and have a memorable fun filled evening. I highly...
