Read moreRiver Plate Garden, true to its name is a place I had visited a couple of times before my last visit. I had gone there for a number of reasons ranging from appointments with someone, relaxation, recreation and so on. However, on my latest visit -yesterday- I saw the need to write this review. First, the place has grown over the years. It has grown in terms of popularity, consistent recreational, event center and catering services, among others. So, while I was there I witnessed an ongoing wedding reception program. If am not mistaken, there were probably two or more other wedding reception programs going on, in that venue, at the same time. Note this, River Plate Garden occupies a large expanse of land along the Ahmadu Bello Way, Abuja. I went there with someone who wanted to buy a local dish. I am sure it was either Amala, ewedu, jollof rice or something else, he wanted to buy. The parking lot was filled with vehicles and the security men were actively controlling the traffic flow and directing drivers where and how to park. The entire atmosphere was lively and interesting and I enjoyed some of the comedy, music and entertainment that came from the closest wedding reception taking place in the place. They public address system they used was loud and clear. At the end we left, and even though the person I went with complained a little about the cost of the food he bought, it was a memorable...
Read morePalm Ave Restaurant inside River Plate garden. I think it is a new restaurant as it wasn't Google friendly finding the location.
To be quite honest I spent less than an hour here. I ordered a chicken kebab first with cocktails which took more than 30mins. Service is poor, The food is basic. While they have a beautiful cozy space, I don't know about the lazy teddy bears sitting comfortably on their chairs🤣😂🐻. The waiters should be retrained, given smarter uniforms especially the Ladies. If you're looking to have any alcoholic drink, this is not your go to. We didn't know alcoholic drinks were not served in this location. I will give it 3/5. Maybe with time, I believe it will get better. They have an outdoor lounge area with cabana s which is cool. Palm...
