Sarius Palmetum — Attraction in Maitama

I visited Sarius a week before a birthday event that I was planning and spoke to the manager, Adrienne about booking a space. We discussed the modalities and I even selected the spot I would use. I asked her if there was anything I needed to do prior to the event and she told me to just call a day before to remind her. I called her a day before my event and she informed me that she had given out the spot I had selected to someone else because they were paying more. I was disappointed but at this point, I had already sent out invitations and paid for the food and drinks. In a bid to avoid rescheduling, I asked if there were any other spaces and she sent me 2- I selected one and we agreed that I could use it the next day. The next day, approximately 3 hours to my event, I received a very silly message from Adrienne informing me that she had given out the space to someone else. When I questioned this decision, she informed me that she had FORGOT to mention that anyone could take the space. This left me in a very unfortunate situation and I ended up having to find an alternative venue last minute. Since that time, I have not received any form of apology from the manager, instead, she has been sending me strange sunshine smileys on Whatsapp. Sarius is a beautiful venue but the manager, Adrienne is extremely unprofessional and incompetent. I would advise you to seek a different venue for your events, or in the alternative, specifically ask to deal with the owner and not Adrienne because she will...

Really beautiful location and very nice scenery that is unfortunately muddled by poor customer service. There is an entry fee of N3000 and you quite literally have to attempt to enter before you are intercepted by security with information that you cannot enter. I wish there were signs for this. No parking inside allowed for non-management folks but there’s no signage at the assigned parking area to show that, so that when you do drive in, you actually have to talk to them and they ask you to turn around, park outside and then walk all the way in. This wouldn’t be a problem if they had signs outside. Granted, there’s a shuttle service to take you in if you want, but this is a lot of hullabaloo, in my opinion. Next, the staff are generally not friendly and they will follow you around whilst you’re walking to ensure you do not engage in any funny business such as taking pictures with a professional camera.

We had a great picnic here with one of the teams I worked on a project with to celebrate milestone. It was such a beautiful scene environment, birds chirping, mini water falls, and so much more. Depending your arrangement with the management, you either bring your food grills, picnic mat, and so on or you take a walk around the park and eat at the restaurant. Either ways this is best enjoyed when you go in a group, kids love it too.
