Fly-n-hi Segway Tours — Attraction in Kristiansand

Wow, what a fabulous way to get a round and visit the port area. After signing off a brief waiver, donning a lovely safety vest and putting on a helmet were off to Segway training. Mr. Svein provided one on one training. Once we were all confident - off we go!

Our tour guide, Anna, provided whispers to hear what we were seeing. We headed out the port shopping area first. We then stopped to view a map with the highlights of Kristiansand.

The area is surrounded by a lovely beach and walkways where we encounter many walkers taking in the morning!

We viewed the Fortress, where we stopped to take in the enormity of it. Off we go continuing past the beautiful seaside condos/homes.

Off to the older part of the City that is marked with a red brick heart. Mr. Svein provided the history.

We went through the town Square passing by shops and the beautiful Cathedral. Around the corner, we came upon a fish market. We all collected a fantastic bite of smoke salmon. It was like butter, just melted in my mouth -so ono!!

We headed back, and we're rewarded with an official post card to commemorate our Segway license.

We did the Kristiansand: Guided Segway Tour through Get Your Guide operated by Fy-n-hi. Our tour was excellent!! It was a cold and windy day, but it was very worth it. So informative and a great overview of the main areas of the city. Our guide - the company owner - was super knowledgeable and easy to understand, and his pace was perfect. He spent a good amount of time at the beginning of the tour making sure we were all comfortable on the Segways and that we knew about safety. We also got little headset radios so we could hear him as we were driving along, which was really helpful! After the tour we felt like we really had an understanding of the history and importance of the city, and we even got to try some delicious fish at the market. Wirklich nette und engagierte Guides. Der Standort liegt direkt am Kreuzfahrtschiff Anleger. Man läuft im Prinzip direkt drauf zu (grauer Container) Zuerst gibt es eine umfangreiche Einweisung (nur in Englisch) und auch umfangreiche Warnungen, was es alles beim Fahren zu beachten gibt. Diese Warnungen sollte man auch zwingend befolgen, da es nur zwei Zustände gibt, entweder auf dem Segway fahren oder vom Segway fallen, wenn man essentielle Fehler macht (wir hatten schon bei der Testrunde eine Frau die vom Segway gefallen ist, da sie die Anweisungen nicht befolgte)! Nach der Einweisung gibt es für jeden mehrere Testrunden in einem kleinen Testparcour vor Ort. Alles in allem muss man diese Zeit zu der eigentlichen Fahrtdauer mit dazu zählen (mindestens 30-40 Minuten wenn alle Teilnehmer es gleich richtig beherrschen. Wenn man Schwache Teilnehmer dabei hat, dann kann es noch länger dauern (so bei uns passiert). So dass es dann schon mindestens insgesamt über 2 Stunden dauert. Das sollte man unbedingt wissen, wenn man seine (Kreuzfahrtzeit) durchgetaktet hat. Jeder bekommt einen Funkohrhöhrer mit dem der Guide dann während der Fahrt interessantes über die Stadt und die Sehenswürdigkeiten erzählt. Es ist jeweils vorne und ganz zum Schluss ein Guide. Zum Abschluss gab es noch einen halt in einem Fischmarkt. Dort gab es eine Lachsverkostung. Der Lachs war mega gut 😋 Insgesamt ist es sehr gut organisiert. Was für uns etwas schade war, dass es insgesamt nur drei Stopps gab, und man somit ansich die vielen tollen Sehenswürdigkeiten nicht wirklich fotografieren konnte, da man nur dran vorbei fuhr. Da aber jeder Stopp tatsächlich eine Herausforderung für ungeübte Fahrer ist, war es auch besser so. Es gab ein zwei geübte Fahrer, die es beherrschten vom Segway aus Fotos zu machen. Als ungeübter Segwayfahrer ist das eher nicht zu empfehlen. Für uns alles in allem eine tolle Erfahrung zum ersten Mal mit so einem Segway zu fahren. Tipp von unserer Seite aus: Wer Probleme mit Gleichgewicht und Balance halten hat, der wird sich deutlich schwerer tun, wie jemand der es beherrscht auf einem StandUp Paddle die Balance zu halten. Es ist jedenfalls nicht wie E-Scooter fahren! es ist deutlich komplexer. Wir würden es jederzeit wieder buchen.
