Fantastic meal at reasonable prices! After a morning hiking around and climbing over old defensive fortifications, we stumbled into Sjøhuset for a little rest and nourishment. The fish and chips has two size options, giving you a choice depending on your hunger level. The fish was perfect, fried to perfection with delicious thick cut chips to top it off. My wife had the wolffish, which she continues to rant and rave about now, days later. It was a perfect meal out on the patio, overlooking the harbor. Absolutely wonderful!

The restaurant which is located at the harbour looks like a typical Norwegian wooden house. The atmosphere inside was rustic but the menu offered modern, fine dining, options. I am vegetarian, still there were a main course and some desserts to choose from. The staff was pleasant and attentive which made us feel quite comfortable. The view over the water is amazing even though we went there on a rainy day. I imagine visiting the restaurant in summer is a nice experience though. We would highly recommend that place!

Great food and wonderful atmosphere. I would probably have given another star if I did not suspect the shrimp and the king crab were frozen. I get better shrimp from REMA 1000 (a convenience store in Norway, and im talking about the fresh shrimp). Top service, and we loved the mussels! my wife had a fish soup which is a appetizer for dinner. and I had the seafood platter. so, I had to share some. there was enough food for both of us. must mention that I reacted a bit to the price of beer compared to similar priced restaurants.

Delicious, fresh seafood. We had dinner at the brewery section of the restaurant. We thought the portions were small based on other reviews and thus ordered 3 dishes for 2 people, which turned out to be more than enough food. There weren’t many people in the restaurant and it was a bit quiet for a Sunday night. Staff sometimes disappeared for a while to the other section of the restaurant. So the atmosphere was not really there, but the food was delicious nonetheless!

We were a couple and Ordered a lagre fish soup with two desserts. Asked for butter to the bread, it never arrived. Minus one star for that. We waited about 30 minutes before we had to ask for the dessert and then waited another 10 minutes. Minus one star for that. Food was great and the fish soup was generous in seafood. Great seating options outside. Friendly staff that helped us get a premium table, however the general service was not top notch

Cute little place in the port of Kristiansand. The owner gently let us just order a couple of coffee at noon. We ended up having a small bite, and it was well worth it ! We had a classic Fiskkesuppe, with mussels, salmon and shrimps; and a cod fish and chips with aïoli, wich was really great ! The batter really felt homemade and the cod kept all of its texture, truly amazing !
