I recently had the opportunity to visit the Norwegian Armed Forces Museum, also known as Forsvarsmuseet, and I must say it was an incredibly enlightening experience. As someone with a moderate interest in military history, I found the museum to be a valuable resource that provided a comprehensive overview of Norway's armed forces throughout the years.

The museum's collection is quite extensive, featuring a wide range of artifacts, displays, and exhibits that cover various aspects of Norway's military heritage. From ancient battles to contemporary peacekeeping missions, the museum does a commendable job of presenting the key moments and developments in Norwegian military history.

One aspect of the museum that impressed me was the attention to detail in the exhibits. Each display was thoughtfully organized and provided informative descriptions and contextual information. While not as interactive as some other museums I have visited, the Norwegian Armed Forces Museum still managed to engage me with its well-presented information and fascinating artifacts.

The collection of military vehicles and equipment on display was particularly noteworthy. The museum boasts an impressive array of tanks, aircraft, naval vessels, and other military hardware. Seeing these vehicles up close and learning about their historical significance was truly captivating.

The staff at the museum were friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions and provide additional information. Their passion for the subject matter was evident, and their insights added depth to the overall experience.

The museum's facilities were well-maintained and comfortable, with clear signage and adequate seating throughout. The layout of the exhibits was logical and easy to navigate, allowing visitors to explore the different sections at their own pace.

In conclusion, the Norwegian Armed Forces Museum offers an excellent opportunity to delve into Norway's military history. While it may not have as many interactive elements as some other museums, its extensive collection, informative displays, and knowledgeable staff make it a worthwhile visit. I highly recommend this museum to anyone with an interest in military history or who wants to gain a deeper understanding of Norway's armed forces. Five...

Fantastic museum that when I visited was included with the Oslo Pass. I spent about 2-3 hours here in a Sunday walking through the entire museum. They had a few exhibits with modern military equipment and stories about Norwegian Armed Forces. Then, on the second floor, you step back into the time of Vikings and work your way through the years with exhibits on everything related to military activities. There are a lot of interesting weapons and armor from the Vikings to modern-day Norwegian soldiers to look at and plenty of information on all of it. There is plenty of information on the soldiers and civilians from each exhibit explaining daily life or how people were affected. I really enjoyed visiting the museum. I would definitely go back whenever I...

One of the best military museum I've been to: so many pieces, from the viking age to today. Presents all the Norwegian operations in the world, history of their armament as well as UN operations, the world wars, etc. Also a small live exhibition about the question of having a king. Loved it! I recommend this museum!

My only regret is that not all texts are translated in English (you can scan a QR code for some translation). I can understand some danish which helped me but that my only downside. Do not let this stop you from going, it has an impressive display of weapons, armament and historical pieces! And the price is very fair for the size...
