A hidden gem. You would never know it was here if you didn't look it up. It's inside the cruise port, right down the end, hidden on what looks like an industrial estate with a load of shipping containers. Go inside, and you're welcomed by a very eclectic selection of eateries, including Greek, Burmese, Guatemalan, Syrian, Chinese and Filipino among others, plus a bar for drinks. You scan a QR code and then you can do one order, combining dishes from every eatery, plus bar drinks. Then pay one amount for the whole order. When your order is ready, you get an SMS and you just go collect it and enjoy! Not particularly expensive by Norwegian standards. Paying in euros was an issue, as it seemed complicated and not very straightforward. The location is also not very central, which made me wonder why it’s so highly recommended.
Another downside was the cleanliness of the WC—it definitely needed more attention.
On the positive side, the view is lovely (if you manage to get a good spot), but overall, I left feeling that Vippa didn’t live up to...
