What a beautiful pub and it sounds like you look after the Irish with events etc.. But your staff..
The girl behind the bar was a really lovely person and working alone so will not be too harsh there.
The Australian guy though, if you have any business mind you will let go immediately.. The girl told him multiple people asked for the football and if he knew how to change the channel, could he do it (she hadn't been trained how). He said he did but he wanted to watch the AFL and didn't care.. Nice way to make your customer feel heard.
When the girl charged us for our tea (as she should just doing her job) he said 'I would never charge for tea it's only hot water'.. Way to make your customer feel good about spending money.
Swearing his head off like an idiot and just generally awful, loud and really awkward conversation. I know it's a pub, I have done worse ha! But at 4pm on a quiet Sunday. Pull your head in mate or you won't get far in life. Sure you will just read this and...
Read moreWas doing my first solo trip and ended up missing home a bit, so I decided to go for a few drinks to this pub, great beer as I ended up going 3 nights in a row! Not too pricey, good food, great atmosphere, plenty of room, honestly really did feel like an Irish pub, I genuinely felt as if I was back home. And really lovely, genuine and kind staff, spent most of the time chatting with a great Irish bar man called Fergus who had very good knowledge of the beers and food and what to recommend. Also had very good suggestions on what to do around the city, so if In need of any help on what to do around the area then he’s your man. Met some great people here and have left me with very fond memories of my trip to Oslo. When I return to Oslo I know where will be one of my first places to visit. Thank you all lovely staff members for this experience. Wishing you all the best and will be back to visit you hopefully sometime soon...
Read moreAs an Irishman I feel it is my duty to sample Guinness in every corner of the world and this pub does not disappoint, great pint. Decor is as expected with any Irish pub, could find it's replica in any Irish town. The food was great and fairly reasonably priced considering Norway's reputation for high prices, 2 pints of the black stuff and 4 soft drinks 3 adult meals ( one being the hangover burger ) and 3 kids meals came in at 1099Kr or roughly about €110 before any gratuity ( I have paid higher in Dublin ). Now I did visit in the afternoon so can't comment on nightlife but during our visit the Barman was very friendly joking with the kids and asking them how there holiday was ect and being a very good host. Would recommend and will be visiting again next year. They also sold my Norwegian friend afew Guinness pint glass's as he had complained he could not find anywhere to buy...
