General Santos City Oval Plaza — Attraction in General Santos

UPDATE: With Xmas just days away, the park is teeming with vendors selling everything imaginable from streetfood to toys to balloons to firecrackers. Being the only open park in the city, and the largest, every night is family night, some here on a picnic. Social distancing is almost non-existent. But everyone wears masks, thank God.

The brick path surrounding the plaza for joggers is now complete sans the landscaping. Best time to jog is dawn and dusk.

The city's focal center during festivals, large gatherings and mass meetings. Top choice among joggers, runners and walkers. A large stage dominates the place where programs and shows are held. Best place for jogging early morning or doing physical exercise. Students come here for rehearsal usually 4pm-7pm. Well lighted at night. Every September, Gen Santos Kalilangan celebration turn this park into festivities - Tuna festival a 2 week celebration highlighted with participants of various public school in the city wearing colorful fish custumes competition. Foods and durian station, ice cream, halohalo, mini bazaar , used shoes and clothings, electronics and an amusement park expect this place flooded with people and tourists. good place where you can relax, dating bonding, family bonding, playing, jogging eating and i can also practice here in street dancing, role playing, and we can Bible study here and more students go this place because of the good atmosphere, i can hide also the sun here because of the big trees. i love this place also when there are activities or fiesta more people come and unite together. thank God for this place, i love this place so much.
