Cheradel Suites not so Terribly not so Sweet. Do not judge a hotel or Suites by its outer appearance. On April 25, 2013 I will conduct a workshop at 1 pm. At first sight, the facilities of Cheradel Suites is impressive, with a minor manor appearance and a swimming pool at the middle of the hotel. But reservation and front desk personnel are surly and inefficient, not to mention surly. Seems like management forgot to teach them how to smile. I had a reservation and arrived about 9 am. I was initially told that I do not have a reservation. They do not have online or computer systems to check reservations. Then another person came in and after poring through paper records say that I indeed do have a reservation but the room is still occupied and they can only let me in by 2 pm. Maybe people haven't discovered this place yet. When you go there, your first impression is that maybe it is expensive or maybe it is not a hotel but a big mansion. No, it is not a house or a mansion. It is a hotel where you and your family can stay. Don't be intimidated by what you see at first glance. I thought the same thing too, but it is affordable, and the place is really great. They also have a pool, unfortunately I did not bring with me my swimsuit because I was not aware that they have a pool...
Read moreLovely little hotel with a nice garden and pool. It's clean and well maintained.
But a few details of the bed keep it at three stars. The foam mattress in the room is way too soft and unsupportive. My lower back aches since I sleep in a fetal position and my hips sink, causing spine to misalign.
The bedsheet is too short, I can't pull it up to my chin without exposing my toes.
Finally, the pillowcases are some plasticky nylon-like material. Really cheap-feeling.
Otherwise the room is decent. Split aircon is quiet.
Food is okay, if a bit pricey for Iligan.
If they fix the bed this could get to four or even five...
