Manila Golden Mosque is located in Quiapo, Manila. It is a holy place for us Muslims, a place where we usually perform our congregational prayers. Non-muslims are welcome here to observe and learn about Islam. It has a great architectural design. Both Locals and foreigners visit here. There are 3 entrances to the golden mosque. Two for the prayer area for Men and one 2-door or double door at the back part of the mosque for the prayer area reserved for the women. There are separate conform rooms and washing areas for ablution for both men and women located in front of the golden mosque just after enter the left side of main gate. Unfortunately, this Mosque is surrounded by informal settlers. So in a way, garbage are everywhere outside of the mosque. The house keepers or cleaners can't cope up cleaning with the people who have to discipline in throwing properly their trash. The administrators of the Mosque needs to seriously implement some policies to maintain the cleanliness outside the Mosque. As for us, visitors of this mosque must also help in maintaining the cleanliness of the area by properly disposing our trash and observing and/or rules while inside and outside the mosque.

The first Mosque I visit in Manila. I'm visiting the Mosque on Friday prayer. So many people there. Tips: - Prepare some money for sadaqah, someone will ask you if you're not a native Philippines. Or just be confident so they assume you know the rule. Pros: - Big and many people do ibadat there Cons: - The place around the Mosque dirtier than place in Makati or on the central of the Manila - English literacy near the Mosque lower compare to other place in the central of Metro Philippines CMIIW and good luck!

Masjid Al-Dahab / The Golden Mosque Filipino: Gintong Masjid Is situated in the predominantly Muslim section of the Quiapo district in Manila, Philippines, and is considered the largest mosque in Metro Manila. Architecture Type- Mosque Completed- 1976 Capacity- 22000 The Golden Mosque acquired its name for its gold-painted dome as well as for its location in Globo de Oro Street. Under the supervision of former Philippine First Lady Imelda Marcos, construction began on August 4, 1976 for the visit of Libya's President Muammar al-Gaddafi, although his visit was cancelled. It now serves many in Manila's Muslim community, and is especially full during Jumuah prayers on a Friday. The mosque can accommodate up to 22,000 worshippers. Courtesy - Wikipedia The Masjid being the Major one need extensive renovations, it really does, I really felt heart broken to see the Masjid while the name of the masjid itself created a preoccupation of thoughts in me and all were shattered by the sight of reality The Ablution are really in need of renovation, situated bit far away from the actual masjid and poorly kept I wonder the Jamath of this place and the masjid should really see into this, as in every masjid there is a share of sadaqa and other grants , I hope they divert some of it towards the renovation of the Masjid in a slow and steady pace. It should be the communal effort of all in single stroke There are many shops and restaurants and kiosks around the masjid

The biggest mosque 🕌 in Manila. Can accommodate up to 22k worshippers. It proudly stands in the predominantly Muslim section of the Quiapo district of Manila. Non Muslim may also enter the premises but not inside. From friendly Muslim who offered being a guide we learned that there are 4000 Muslims living in the vicinity of the mosque. The construction of the mosque began in 1976 under the supervision of Imelda Marcos. It supposed to be used for the visit of Libya’s President Muammar Al-Gaddafi.

This is probably the largest masjid I've been around Manila. It's full during Friday prayer. The condition is unfortunately not well maintained. The surrounding area doesn't look quite clean and made me feel kinda unsafe as well. A few halal food outlets around. Perhaps the muslims here and in the region (namely Malaysia and Brunei) need to get themselves together and pay attention at this masjid and give it a new breather.

To find mosque like the mosque usually like and it's ambience in Manila or Philippines was difficult. alhamdulillah we found Manila golden mosque , nearby the pier when our trip to port. Always open in the daylight , everyday. Open after Isha in the night . Wudhu place for wash your body is small , and crowd you need to be patient. The interesti thing is you could find halal food here , cause this is Moslem area of course.
