I'll start by saying, this place is an absolute dump. ||Having never left a bad review in my life, it's the first time I feel the need to save the soul and money of the next potential customer. We wanted to finish our trip with a bang and splurge $450 AUD FOR TWO NIGHTS (laughably reduced from $1300AUD) . Please do not make the same mistake. ||||A. Pictures are extremely misleading||||B. The path leading up to the "resort" is full of rubbish and super dishevelled. Literally mounds of rubbish.||||C. There's no concierge or reception area and we had to search for someone to help us check in. As we walked in, I was sure we were in the wrong place. ||||D. We got to our room and.... no toilet seat. WOO HOO! For $215 per/night we had to ask for a toilet seat in our run down, bug ridden bathroom. There's mould on the walls and ceiling and heavily rotted skirting boards. The floor hasn't been cleaned and the drinking glasses left haven't been cleaned properly either. The silver lining is the kettle placed right next to the toilet with no mugs, tea, coffee or anything for that matter. Our mind boggles as to what they expected us to do with that kettle. Perhaps a piece of abstract art? Our search for these materials lead us to the "mini bar" which is an empty 18th century rusty warm fridge. ||||E. Wifi only works in the "restaurant and bar". Upon asking where the bar is, I was pointed to a window looking into the kitchen. ||||F. The pool "deck" is literally falling apart (I actually thought my foot was going to fall through planks and you run the risk of getting a foot full of splinters) Is this what they call shabby chic? If you call knee high weeds lining the outskirts of the pool foliage then yes, there's lots of foliage. But the 'piece de resistance' of the pool vista has to go to the small plastic pot containing a long dead plant sitting as a centre piece. ||To top it off, the water level is laughably low.. but don't worry - the ancient hose is wading in the water for emergencies.. not that I ever saw even a trickle escape its wrinkly lips. ||||G. We decided there's no possible way we can stay here for the amount of money we paid and asked for a cancellation to which the uncaring manager said it's non-refundable. I said "this is not enough please can you help me", the manager then said ok but you have to call bookings to cancel. I was on the phone for an hour under the impression I was getting my money back and able to move onto to bigger and better things in my life. We stayed here for 6 nights from March 15-21 and overall was good. Here are my observations which led me to the star rating.

Staff are all nice but tend to lack attentiveness to guest sometimes. Regardless, they always greet you with a smile in their face which is for me is a plus wherever I stay.

They do have parking so if you rent a car/motorcycle then parking would not be a problem.

Food is good but can be a bit pricey, serving size can also be inconsistent. I think this is a standard for the whole Island.

Room does not have any telephone therefore if you need something from the receptions you would either have to call them thru their mobile from which they sometimes fail to answer or have to walk to receptions and ask about.

Room looks like it needs renovation, wooden tables creak, water bottle doesn’t look like it was washed therefore buy your own drinking water. But their bed is immaculate we slept like a baby. Shower pressure is also great iykyk.

Room does not offer tv and wifi is so poor we’re just glad we downloaded lots of movies before we went here so we can watch in the afternoon where we can’t be outside in the Sun.

Beach is pretty lowtide until around 8am and their hightide is not really high because the water is shallow by nature which means kids would really enjoy. I recommend wearing water shoes because there are sea urchin at some parts of the shallow water especially in the part where there are lots of seaweeds.

They always clean their beachfront which is a plus and sun loungers are available we loved it. You will see a lot of aquatic life even in the shallow so kids would really enjoy. Oh they also have 2 kayaks but do not have any lifevest I think this is one important thing they need to tackle, not everyone who might want to use their kayak can swim. We enjoyed it regardless. We enjoyed the beach so much so we never even tried dipping in their pool 🫣😂 thats island life for you.

Would I recommend staying here? Of course!

My observation are things that they can decide to improve on or not. I love the place regardless because it is quiet, away from the busy Alona. I prefer this side of Panglao honestly. I also think every introvert in Nature would enjoy this resort. People who want the quiet nature vacation who would love to see the sunrise and sunset in their own terms.

If you are a family visiting Panglao, I recommend renting a car if you can. Driving around is way better and you can plan out your...

DO NOT STAY - Property Under construction Pros: - The room was lovely and also clean - The staff on site were lovely and attentive (serving water when we were talking outside etc) Cons: - Our hotel door lock was broken so we couldn’t secure our door - The pictures on all booking platforms do not reflect the current hotel at all - Pool: Building under construction in front of pool, drilling, hammering, sawing all day - Dining area: Chipboard around posts, different basic seats, no linen curtains - Cabanas on sea do not exist, cabanas on hotel grounds are destroyed and sitting in a wooden pile - ‘Wellness area’ does not exist, instead an empty building with broken glass/ satellite dish. - Different furniture (fold up white plastic picnic tables seen etc) We paid an excruciating amount of money to stay based on the photos (PHP25,000 or £335 for 4 nights), the reality is very different and we did not end up staying here. The staff acknowledged that the photos did not reflect the hotel at all because of the construction works and said they were waiting for the work to finish (which appear months/ years away) before uploading new photos, which means upcoming visitors will have no idea as the hotel does not give you any warning about this. Despite this all staff on site had no authority to discuss the situation and the manager ‘Mildred’ was ‘uncountable’ (and has remained uncountable for the last 3 weeks as we try to reach out by telephone). Instead the ‘uncountable’ manager told the staff to give us a 20% refund despite us not staying because of all the above discrepancies/ noise from construction.
