Generally quite unhappy with my experience at this theatre.

Ticket sales are through TicketWorld, which is a separate entity that has low knowledge of the actual layout of the theatre. When I called Solaire directly, I was always referred to TicketWorld for theatre-related questions. When I asked TW any questions, they knew very little and seemed totally unconcerned.

Back to the theatre itself: The gradient (incline?) of the theatre is so mild that if you sit behind another row, you’re likely to have an obstructed view. The sound system was BASAG (we watched Hamilton) so louder songs came with this vibration from the speakers. General acoustics also bad, which is why they relied on speakers to boost sound, I’m assuming. Really took away from the performances (and most performers for the Hamilton show were great - sayang).

By far the most annoying thing to me was that they started the show LATE and that they allowed people to enter LATE.

The only good thing: staff were pleasant and helpful. But they could only make up for so much. Overall I would avoid seeing a show at the theatre at Solaire if possible.

Ah one more thing: the drop off for the theatre is not a presentable or pleasant in any way… it’s an indoor driveway that connects to the parking structure. Totally detracts from the experience of going to see a nice show. From there, you walk a significant distance to the elevators up to the theatre. After the show, if you parked your own car, you will need to line up to use the elevators that take you to parking levels. No escalator or stairs option. The line was LONG after...

The place reeks with elegance. The actual theatre is beautiful. Even if we're seated on the 2nd to the last row of the balcony section, the sound is superb. The balcony section is very steep so be careful in going up and down the stairs. The seats are comfortable. However, you won't see much of the people's faces on stage unless you have a phone with x10 zoom camera. As a first timer visiting the place, here are my observations:

PARKING: Parking is free. Best if you can park on levels 2 or nearest to level 2. There are no stairs accessing the parking area. Only elevators. After a show ends, there will be a looong line in the parking elevators. Again, there are no stairs. So if you've parked in level 3 onwards, either you take the elevator or walk on the parking ramp going up.

RESTROOMS: They're always clean. There are only few cubicles available so it can have a long line once the show is over.

FOOD: Food and drinks of any kind are not allowed inside the theatre. You will have to leave your water bottles outside. There's a nearby snack bar with high price range. 80pesos for a 500ml water bottle and 490pesos for a sandwich. There is also a bar outside the balcony section doors. There are other cafes and restaurants outside the theatre like Abe and CBTL while the rest are high-end restaurants. If you're nagtitipid, best decision is to bring baon and snacks instead.

STAFF: There are a lot of staffs roaming in the theatre. From security to guides to janitors. You won't get lost...

We watched the Phantom of the Opera here. It was indeed a great show and an unforgettable experience. However there's just one thing that ruined the experience. After the show, one staff approached me and told me to delete the photos that I have captured, without proof if I really did capture any. So I explained to him that I did not took photos given the fact that I am very much aware that it is strictly prohibited to do so. He still insisted that I took photos during the first act, but here's the catch: I was late for the show! I only arrived during the second act because I came straight from work. So how did I took photos during the first act if I wasn't even there in the first place?? I showed my phone's gallery to the staff and proved that I didn't capture any photo. And that's the only time he allowed me to go out pretending like nothing happened. He didn't even apologized for wrongfully accusing me and humiliating me in public. My family and I were even seated at the VIP section, but I was humiliated by this staff who just accused me without even proper verification.

I just hope that this will be the last time somebody will be wrongfully accused most especially in a setting like this. It is understood that the staff is only doing his job, but I hope next time, he does it properly! Very...

I really enjoy watching shows at Solaire Theater — I’ve already seen four musicals here and the productions are always excellent. However, I’ve noticed that the audio levels can be inconsistent. Sometimes, mid-song, the volume changes noticeably, which can be distracting. On other occasions, the sound is lowered so much that it’s hard to hear what the performers are saying. For example, when we watched Dear Evan Hansen last week, Set 1 was significantly louder than Set 2. The difference in volume made it difficult to catch the dialogue and some of the songs in the second half. I’m sure it wasn’t just me who noticed, because I saw many people around me leaning in, trying to hear the dialogue more clearly. It also didn’t matter where I was sitting because I have the exact same problem when sitting in Orchestra, even 5 rows away from the stage. It feels like the audio is being adjusted during the performance, but the changes don’t always match the flow of the scene. A more stable and well-balanced audio mix throughout the show would really improve the overall experience. I hope the theater can look into making the sound levels more consistent, as it would make an already great experience even better.

Theatre at Solaire is built for spectacle. You could be seated in the balcony or orchestra, and you’d still feel like the show was made just for you. The sightlines are sharp. The acoustics? Clean enough to make even the softest piano note hit you right in the chest. We came for Bravo! Manila and left wondering why every city doesn't build their performance spaces like this. The stage is massive, the lights were dialed in, and not once did I feel like I missed a beat or a breath. The staff deserves their own standing ovation. From the ushers to the attendants, everyone moved with purpose. I watched them guide elderly guests to their seats with care, no rush, no fuss. That kind of attention makes a difference. It makes the whole evening feel like an experience instead of just a show. The vibe is elevated but never snobby. It's luxury with warmth. Velvet seats, a grand lobby, and a crowd that knows how to show up without showing off. Whether you're in it for the arts or just need a reminder of what high-caliber production feels like, this is the place. Manila may have its noise and chaos, but inside the Theatre at Solaire, it's all precision, performance, and poetry.
