I brought my girlfriend here on her Birthday since we were staying in the hotel. I reserved for 8pm and in my reservation I put it was for a Birthday. After we finished our first plates we got up to get more food. When we came back we noticed that someone else had put there dirty plates and utensils on our table. I went to one of the staff members and let him know and also told him hey it's my girlfriends birthday since I noticed they were singing happy birthday to other tables. I went to get our drinks and I came back and noticed they didn't take the utensils and give us new ones since our stuff was mixed with whoever put there stuff on our table. I then said can we get new utensils and we did eventually get them. We ate and was there for over an hour and none of the staff really checked in on us. We always had dirty plates on the table because no one came and cleaned our dirty plates off the table. So we finally get to our dessert and the staff I told earlier it was my girlfriends birthday comes to our table and sees us eating dessert but doesn't get the other staff to come over to our table to sing happy birthday. Another group sits down beside us and within 15 minutes of them being there the staff comes over with the cake they give out for peoples birthday and starts to sing happy birthday. Before they got to there table I noticed them coming and got excited and pulled out my camera to film but then noticed they stopped at the other table and started to sing happy birthday to someone at that table. Halfway through them singing the guy sets my girlfriends cake down in front of her but by that time I had put my phone down because the surprise was already ruin because it was awkward that they gave the other table their cake and sang to them but just sat my girlfriends cake down in front of her while singing to them. After that the excitement of what was suppose to be a special dinner for her was ruined. We noticed the staff coming up to every table but ours to make sure everything was okay. It was a horrible experience and would never wish to have that happen to someone on their special day. I would give the service zero stars if I could. The photo I added is the staff singing happy birthday to the other group while my girlfriends cake was on our table with...
Read moreFresh used to be one of the best buffet restaurants in the metro but based on our dining experience recently, we can say that the quality of food and their service declined big time.
My friend and I went to dine there for my birthday dinner (with reservation) using the BDO 50% off promo. However, I was only informed upon arrival at the restaurant that only 20% discount will be applied because the BDO promo has already been maxed out and they can only extend 20% to us. I mean, I would understand if this circumstance has been properly explained during reservation, but no, we were not informed at all and were only told about it when we were already at the restaurant entrance. Even so, it is not stated in BDO's terms and conditions that they have a limit to the discount that they offer. There is nothing in the website that is written that there is a maximum limit to the number of guests who can avail of the 50% off.
The receptionist then asked if we still want to proceed with our dinner reservation. How do you expect us to make another dinner plans somewhere else right then and there if we don't proceed with our reservation with Fresh. It's like they don't leave us with any other choice. Then 1.5 hours into our dinner, a staff then suddenly approached our table and handed over our guest check without us asking for it (how rude and unbecoming of a "Forbes five star" hotel), then he informed us that we only have 10 minites left to dine because there was a second seating. I get it if that is their policy but again, NO ONE from the staff informed us from the time of reservation to our brief conversation with the receptionist that there are 2 seatings that evening. Imagine paying for 2999+ (less 20% for the promo) only to be given 1.5 hours of dinner time with staff hastening you to leave. Is this really the best that a "Forbes five star" hotel can offer? It is very disappointing that we had to experience this at Solaire. Based on our experience with Fresh, we don't see ourselves coming back again in the near future unless they improve on their policies, service, and...
Read moreFresh International Buffet was a pretty good experience, especially if you love seafood, lobster in particular, because that’s what they offer a lot of, Now, In Filipino section. They had the usual local favorites like Menudo, Adobo, and Caldereta, though weirdly enough, all of them were made with pork. No chicken or beef options for those dishes, which I found a bit surprising.
On the Western side, they served mushroom soup, beef stew, and some sort of chicken dish. All were pretty good, but what really stood out to me the most was the mushroom soup. Wow, so creamy, and you could really taste the mushroom. It was rich yet light on the stomach. Honestly, I could have had that over and over again.
Their dessert section was nice too. They had a variety of cakes from tiny slices to full round ones where you could ask for a custom slice. They also had lava cake, the usual ice cream, and a salad area, though nothing really stood out there.
The Chinese section was what you’d expect, full of dim sum and the usual Yang Chow Fried Rice. The Japanese section had chicken teriyaki and sushi. The salmon sushi was worth it, but overall, nothing really stood out from these sections.
Now, back to the lobster. If you really love lobster, this is the place to be. They serve regular, large-sized lobsters in about four different flavors: buttered, steamed, chili garlic, and more. That probably explains why the price is ₱2,999 per person. If you’re a lobster fanatic, it’s definitely worth it. But if you’re just looking for a buffet with a lot of meat or general variety, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, not because it’s a bad place, but because it’s very lobster-focused, and that’s where you’re really getting your money’s worth.
One thing I strongly don’t recommend is the goat skewers. They were incredibly tough and chewy, hard to eat, and honestly ruined the first part of my meal. The flavor was good, but the texture made it hard to enjoy. However, if you happen to get a good cut, not tendon-heavy, it can be amazing. Your experience might differ, but unfortunately,...
