I had visited this museum some times ago. Generally it is nice with lots of interesting tools to look and information. But i noticed onething ( chadari) in Afghanistan section, it was really disappointing as Chadari have been forced to Afghan women by Taliban( terrorist group) about 29 years ago. It was and also is like a weapon for taliban to destroy the personality of Afghan women and force them to cover thier bodies with it. It was never been part of our culture and we never liked it. It is just a symbol of those disgusting days that Afghan women had and some of them still have. In the other hand, to the people who seeing and hearing about Afghanistan for the first time in this museum, isn't it an issue that they receiving wrong information by looking at chadari as Afghan cultural clothe? My point is why in a country like Poland or in Europe, something like this exist? When it is not Afghan peoples culture / clothes? When Afghan people consider it related to the Taliban? Please don't show that it is a normal dress and rethink about putting Chadari in this museum. My country and Afghan women are in really bad situation, by removing it from your museum support them. I added the screen of a few line information about chadari and the picture I took...
Read moreA very interesting and well constructed museum, the exhibits are full of beautiful jewellery pieces, different articles of clothing and art from Asia and the Pacific Isles, letting us learn a lot about cultures we may not know much about otherwise. I like that it is free admission on Fridays, just like many other museums in Warsaw which also have free admission days.
The biggest minus and why I'm giving a 3-star review instead of 5 is the usage of AI generated art in one of the exhibits. It is beyond me why an institution such as this one, with access to so many resources and collections of art donated by people would use something that is so anti-art and rids any art of the soul...
