Let's start with the positive. Our server was quite good and frankly deserves a better restaurant to work in.
Now, that is why this review is not a 1 star. The only reason.
On arrival, it was immediately clear that this was an "It Crowd" venue. This is always a worry because that usually leads to poor service, outrageous prices and terrible food.
Walking in the door we find no less than three dogs in the dining room, further confirmation of this, as only people that want to be noticed would be foolish enough to think that taking a dog into a restaurant is acceptable and only owners of a restaurant that intends to cater to this absurd practice would be foolish enough to allow it. Yes, yes, yes, my child is more unsanitary than your dog and other such wildly inaccurate bleatings aside, you do all understand that this is wholly unsanitary and frankly disgusting, don't you?!
Moving on, the food. Well, it is not desperately overpriced on the face if it. I mean, if it is good, then the prices are perfectly reasonable. We ordered a broad selection, something that the menu allows due to a fairly disjointed mixture of various food cultures, and proceeded to wait.
And wait.
And wait.
After 45 minutes I went to the bar to ask why our food had not yet been served. The barman asked me how long ago we ordered it. When I told him he replied "Oh, that is not late and you will probably have to wait another 25-20 minutes then."
Anybody who has children will tell you that NOT being informed of this when you are ordering your food is just downright frustrating. Why are servers not being trained to run their tables properly, including managing guest expectations?
As I was about to leave the restaurant with my family, our server came over to the table and said that she had spoken with the chef and it would be coming in 2 minutes. 2 became 5, of course, but we waited it out and got the food.
Which was generally pretty awful stuff.
How this restaurant is able to keep this charade going is a total mystery. Roast pork belly that has never, EVER seen an oven, with none of the fat rendered down and none of the flavours getting time to run through the meat is a perfect example of the lack of care that is being put into the food and another in a line of reasons why we will not be going back and I will advise all friends and family to avoid this place like the plague.
Maybe they should let the dogs take a turn...
Read moreThis is my first bad review. I wanted to say it in person, but nobody cared. Used to visit the place for delicious vegetarian lunch offers. The service is slowish and hectic, but usually friendly.
But today I had to share my table with “office people” of the place, while they were hosting Food and safety service people or smthn. Guys - really? I understand it’s a big table and ment for sharing, but I kinda was there first and do you reeaalllyy need to squeeze out the only customer sitting there by waving your laptops and notes, and hands right in my face? Even after I moved to the very edge of the table? No questions, no apologies, no nothing. The more I moved to the side, the closer “managers-lady” stuff was piling in front of me. Felt like I was sitting at someone’s livingroom, uninvited, and receiving a “cold treatment” so I would leave as fast as possible. (Ironically, the waiter forgot about me so I had to sit there a while just to have my bill).
Even when leaving with quite sarcastic “sorry for disturbing you guys”, the “manager lady” was still decisevly acting like not seeing me at all. Not even daring to say that proactivly wishing “goodbye” would be nice from her, answering ANYTHING would be nice! Even if you dont understand/speak english.
I used to like the place, but I realised - my money goes to that ladies pocket. No, thanks. I am not sure if I want to go back there ever again. There are plenty of other amazing places around who are working hard and deserve...
Read moreMy first time experiencing discrimination in Poland — and I will never come back to this place. Terrible food, terrible service.
When I first entered the restaurant around 5 PM, I sat at a window-side table for four. The female staff member told me I couldn’t sit there because it was a table for four — even though the restaurant was almost empty with plenty of available seats. I understood and politely moved.
Later, however, a local guest came in and sat at that same four-person table, and the staff said nothing. The longer I stayed, the angrier I felt. To make it worse, the ramen I ordered was bland and barely edible.
When I went to pay the bill, I raised the issue with a different staff member, and asked: “Why wasn’t I allowed to sit there? Just because I’m Asian?” He replied, “You know, some rules…”
Excuse me? What rules exactly?
I’ve met many kind and respectful Polish people elsewhere, but this place —...
