First about scenery: spectacular! You must see it! Beach chairs 22euro. Ouch... most expensive so far. But you need it beacuse afternoon sun is scorching. I have experienced like this only in Tripoli. Now about the "restaurant": This place takes advantage of being the only place you can eat, so they do almost anything to turn customers away... whomever still want to eat here go trough a number of house rules: cannot seat to the table you want, must reserve in house or do prior reservation? ? Really? Remember this is no Ritz... once inside you look at the menu: hmm... double than many other much better places in Albufeira. We've been ripped off "the cover" one spoon of olives, 3 slices of carrots 3 slices of bread and one butte: this is for the 2 of us .. waiter: " I'll bring you plenty of butter" but that is just a statement... we never seen the 10cents butter . Hamburger is sub par, soup has no taste , we ask for salt and pepper to bring some justice the nice colored cream bowl. Mobile reception is spotty here, so I ask for the Wi-Fi password: one of the servers wants to make a quick cask and asked me 100 euro? I repeat the question...oh wait this is a jocke... fine. He is asking me to hand over my phone as they don't want to share the password key. But he also does not know that I can see it afterward in my settings... go figure, don't expect them to be IT literate.. in any case we want to go back on the beach and don' let these folks ruin our afternoon; paying is inside, and you must tell their supervisor your table number: but I must guess it because it's nowhere written.. another guy jumps to say, " it is #".. then the baritone voice tells me: ..ty one.. no bill no nothing... I pay and think to tip as I ALWAYS DO especially in Europe... hmm ... not this time.. One last thing : bring your own napkins 'cuz you done get more than 1/person.
Only positive: we continue to get free WiFi as we seat close by on the 22euro chairs...
Cheers!
Wisit the beach! It is very nice , but beware about this "restaurant"...and be prepared to put up with their idiosyncratic rules. Not sure how this place got...
Read moreWell what can I say, yes it would be less than a star if possible and this was yesterday. I've read the horrible experiences of other guests and this is exactly what happened to us and they reply to your one star with, we will do better etc, rubbish they are not bothered whatsoever! We arrived, the waiter said you have to sit inside , I said there are tables outside so he said ok. Then some people arrived next to us, they got menus then we got menus. Then another table next to us got filled. Then we ordered a bottle of wine and our food. After 30 minutes, less for the other people as we were there first. Both tables got all their fancy drinks, I had to ask for our bottle of wine 3 times. So it took us 45 minutes to get a drink!! Totally unacceptable and nearly one hour to get a toastie and chips. The 3rd table got theirs in about 15 minutes, now what does that tell you!! I asked for some salt for my chips and he brought me Oil and vinegar, tomato sauce, mayonnaise, mustard and pepper!!! I had to ask again for salt, which I eventually got when I'd eaten half my chips. The toast tasted alright but the toast was hard and dry, had to put lots of oil on it to soften it so I didnt break my teeth! My friend ordered the burger, which she really enjoyed and said it should have an egg in it....but there was no egg! She said the burgers are more expensive with an egg in it, we had better check the bill! Sure as eggs are eggs, pardon the pun, they had over charged her including the egg! Obviously I pointed this out on the bill and it was corrected. The house wine is grossly overcharged at €24 for a bottle of red! Needless to say they did not get a tip and after visiting Albuferia for over 20 years, this is one experience I will not be...
Read morewould give less than 1 star if possible. the WORST service, rude and unprofessional staff and so was the manager. we waited over half an hour for our order which was missing the undercooked wings and the only reason we even got our food is because we asked 3 different times. the last waitress we asked literally laughed in our face when my mum said this is unbelievable. people who came after us got served immediately, got attended to, was given sauces and utensils to eat which we had to ask for. when someone came and asked if everything’s okay my mum said no and as she was explaining it he walked away as if she was talking to herself. as you can see in the picture, the wings aren’t cooked properly. they were extremely slimey and still had liquid dripping out of them. although it was inedible the manager still made us pay since “if we wanted them cooked more that was our problem and not theirs”. as the manager was talking to my mum the staff all circled around to listen and were laughing and pointing like it’s a school playground. when my mum said they’ll receive a bad review the manager once again said that that’s our problem and he’ll be the one responding to it so when you see this don’t even bother giving the regular “i’m sorry for your experience and we’ll do our best to fix it next time” because that’s not how this place operates in real life and not once did we receive an apology for this incident. it is also extremely overpriced… 5 euros for a water, 26 euros for a kebab and so on. you need to do better and i so wish we got their names and some...
